All of his appearances with Dave are funny. They both had a simultaneous love and disdain for television.

The Pat Sajak Show was a big deal & appreciated in the UK, shown in the afternoon's on Channel 4. I was sad when it ended.

As of 2023, the price of a vowel still hasn't gone up. Inflation be damned!

Sajak didn't really cut it as a late night host, but he's got a great sense of humor and made this one of Dave's best interviews.

The problem with Sajak as Late Night Talk Show Host was real simple: He was considered too clean to Late Night TV, he wasn't cutting edge like a Carson like a Letterman like a Conan like a Kimmel Good Thing that Sajak & Wheel were both at CBS Television City in HOLLYWOOD both Daytime until '91 and nighttime syndication 'til '95 when the show moved to its current home of SONY Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA

@@tnawcwvictoria Everyone tried to be a Carson clone. Leno was really the only one who could be a "modern Carson" type clone that had the appeal to everyone and not just critics. Leno just had that standup comic energy...but made everyone feel good watching. Pat was good...just not special.

@@twalker191 also, another problem was that most CBS Stations either dropped his talk show or moved it to later time when The Original Arsenio Hall Show came aboard and that's when it got real bad for The Pat Sajak Show

This is a really good video, and I enjoyed the interview. Thanks for uploading! Any idea if this was before Carson's 1991 announcement at Carnegie Hall or after?

Sakai is a good sport, that is true, but I also think Sajak is a good sport as well.
