Funny how Quentin completely missed out the 524 TD diesel here. Not sayin its the most desirable model n that but I'd have thought that even back then it coulda been worth looking for g8ven diesels were starting to become popular.

My dad had one of these (1982 520i, no alloys, no electric windows, fabric seats) from 1984 to 1995. To be honest it never seemed like a particularly cool car to me (though I was only a baby when he first got it)

So Quentin Wilson recommends you get a tool to 'reset' the service indicator lights...thus probably duping the next buyer and avoiding a required service? Then he reckons buying panels that don't fit very well & non original wheels is 'good enough' Brilliant advice from his Royal smugness!

+waynester71 Thats why he says insist on full service history... the lights are not to be trusted without paper work to back it up.
