    when this car was presented (1990) I was 18.. and I almost turned around at this sight. Only 1 year later came the _BUGATTI EB110_ (for me the most beautiful car in the world) and then in 1993 the _McLaren F1_ .. In the 80s and 90s, incredible cars were built. Now almost only extremely heavy hybrid hypercars (crammed with electronics) I don't like them anymore

    Everyone talking about his manual driving skills has no idea what it takes to drive something with a high performance clutch. Supercars from this time are absolutely brutal to drive. My car has a cerametalic clutch. It's basically an on off switch. You have to slip it to get the car to move smoothly at all. Everyone who drives my car stalls it.

    At 2.53 he holds the clutch in for 7 seconds, that's not good 1) for damage to the clutch & 2) for car control! The clutches on manual Diablos apparently didn't last if treated badly. Likely to be expensive!

Is the shifter on this car original, is it me or does it look a little high in comparison to the driving position and steering wheel, seems like abit of a stretch. Nevertheless a really cool car and the sound is great even the gear gaiter sound.

    It's important to consider that many modern performance vehicles don't have the same issues with clutches that older cars did. From Wikipedia's numbers, a 91 Diablo has similar peak HP and less peak TQ than a 392 Challenger, but the manual in a 392 Challenger is extremely easy to operate, and the Challenger is a significantly heavier vehicle as well. Just like people that are coming into cars now will never know turbo lag as it was in the old days, these same people will never know the clutch technology that you had to deal with in the old days for what is considered today to be mid-level power.

    Whatever you say in defense for this dude, you can never defend him for holding that god damn arm on the stick whole damn time. It hurt me to watch the video for more than 20 seconds. The lucky guy didn't even stalled the engine at the first launch, and the gated shifter sure helped him not to clash the gears, but the poor clutch had suffered a lot more than the necessary. @@Toxic2T @Nicolas T I was mainly commenting the coasting. If you have been racing or driving hard, the engine looses the chance to cool itself down before stopping.... you get heatsoak. Another thing is what I have been told when I learned to drive is, never leave the car out of speed when driving. Because you always want full control of the car. Which is not the case when coasting. You also loose engine braking capability. Also no rev matching when downshifting and shifting into gear again 😔 Thats just my opinion.

  • @lsmola

    @lsmola

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@spiKey0svetlana For sure this is not his daily driver and he is not used to the clutch that could be the reason why he coasts and honestly if thats the case its better that he did so than try and slam the shifter into the gear especially without rev matching which you correctly pointed out. Also ive heard couple of times that coasting makes the car spend less petrol which in case of the modern cars makes no sense.
