Plenty of Eric peers are better than him but no one has ever hit a note like this tbh Gary Moore has insane vibrato but he hasn’t done it like that wow incredible Clapton

People talk about Clapton peaking in 1990.. the reality of it is, even at 70 he sounded like this. The man has written some real gems. His tone is rather superb…

yeah i know what you mean. But i kinda do think when he got off the drugs and booze and then around this time his playing got super smooth. But im with ya, i feel he was a god since he started, still was a awesome wrtiter guitar player and even his voice back then, i loved it back then.Like on Derek and the dominoes, oh his voice sounds perfect for that album

Man, Ive loved him forever, but this solo just has me in tears...you can feel his pain and sorrow ...maybe the greatest solo I have ever heard from him, and I love all the old mayall , Cream and Dominoes stuff, but man I really feel him going DEEP like I never heard him before or since....makes me love and appreciate him even more...Bless you Eric and thank you for all your life changing music!

@Chris Gabler Sometimes, we need to be cracked open to let "it" flow...i never wish suffering on anyone all the same, but painful experience can be transmuted into beautiful expression. I feel his pain here.

That crossroads show in 2004 was also a great era. Because he played a bit distorted more like his cream era.

@@Reezer83 He has been playing a bit more distorted recently and he is start to have a spike again because of it. Back in December he did this concert and the intro and guitar solo to Got to Get Better in a Little While was some of the best playing of his career and definitely the best in the last 10-15 years.

I can feel your body When I'm lying in my bed There's too much confusion Going 'round through my head And it's making me so angry To know that the flame still burns Lord, why can't I get over? And when will I ever learn? Old love Leave me alone Old love Just go on home I can see your face, yes But I know it ain't real Just an illusion Caused by how I used to feel And it's making me so angry I know now that the flame will always burn They will always burn I ain't never gonna get over Knowin' that I'll never learn Never learn Old love, old love Leave me alone Old love, old love Just go on home Go on home Old love Just go on home Go on home Old love Old love Ooh love Ooh love Old love Old love Old love

How about huge appreciation to Tanaka Yuta for his labor of love with so much EC!
He said he played better because he went off the drugs and it just goes to show, his heart is totally connected to it.
