Learning how to drive in a Cadillac like this one was terrifying. The car was so powerful. You barely tapped the gas and this thing was ready to fly....

Yes, this generation of Cadillac has excellent V8 power & torque. Even at 3 decades old, when maintained properly, these Cadillacs are very reliable work horses. And, they're really nice looking with traditional Cadillac styling, luxury, & comfort, imho. Cadillac, Cadillac, Cadillac Style!

@@mosterday Agreed I have a 93 model that was kept in a garage since 2012 by the previous owner. A one owner car she looks amazing . This car gets a ton of attention. At 152,000 miles this car handles like a dream... I love it...

My buddies and I would drive around town in their mom's 1988 Mary Kay Cadillac (yes, it was pink) she discontinued and passed on to them. I got behind the wheel of it one time, and spun the tires. The second I hit the accelerator, that front end went all the way up and we were zero to 60 in nothing flat! Boy do I miss that generation.

Reminds me of a time when Cadillac still had that oomph. Acura and Lexus took most of its martlet share and they are left with suvs that continue to sell well.

Are they really didn't feel ashamed to show their downsized car with the masterpiece they built back them?

Who at that time would trust an Allante to get them up to the mountains to go skiing? I guess they rented their skis at the resort.

What huge land barges they were. Driving them must have been for the not faint of heart?

Allante is not a roadster it's a convertible. Roadster has side curtains in place of roll up windows.
