Bodywork IS REALLY HARD TO FIND! Big Problem, especially with Stickers. I became used to go for an Airbrusher to "recreate" the original Trim

One day...I've had a more than a few viffers...but not RC30.yet. I still remember first one a saw, local honda shop had it, owner of the shop took it to the US GP at Leguna Seca in 1990, and it was stolen.

Thanks so much for the rundown. Beautiful bike. A work of art, really. Since you know so much about the RC30, I wonder if you could shed any light on Honda's motorcycle design team through the 90s? I'm sure it would be a great story. They engineered some wonderful machines during the decade. VFR750(R) is Honda's build quality pinnacle, IMO.

kingbee1971 Japan always had the hottest 400s since 75 (I have A Hon 75 400/ 4 ss) because of licensing rules, they made new riders no matter what age go no higher than 400cc. Like my fathers belief that you had to earn your displacement. Even through the 80s we got alot in the states. But supposedly among a handful of reasons we were told the Japanese suits believed Americans only wanted bigger bikes as they were more suited to tastes and the roads, speeds, egos etc. But when they did give it a go,along with agreed factory design and refinement limits agreed and a fake pre-enginered company performance war.The bikes performance was pretty tweaked compared to home regulation bikes with government restriction control laws.So we got scaled down copies of the liter + class of World Superbike race machines.Like single sided swingarms for fast endurance race rear tire pit stops at Daytona or your local Friday/Saturday night designated pit spot where girls might see you getting a fast rear tire swap during night time weekend endurance street *cough* races. But sadness came when Yam stopped selling their factory designed and built 400cc 2 stroke class racetrack club bike for experts and people who wanted to track race officially and get started.Spares and factory race parts available over the parts counter.wow And I saw a couple get lights and a plate put on for street jamming and cred. And sometimes you could find them in the want ads for sale to whoever. But I ended up finding a 75 Honda 400/4 ss in the mid eighties.still have it but I want to send it back to Japan to a enthusiast. As they were built there but only for sale to here,Europe or England dont care. And they appreciate Japanese bike history, not like in the US where people are closed minded and holdover obsolete opinions because someone said it to them. But look at Hardly Abletorun or Choking Chicken available performance products like fast looking skull turn signals and improved airflow to the fake intake butterfly's wow And they were the first to go all out max performance Special Vehicle Operation dept model with new bigger stick on price tags with extra zeros. And two extra valves per cylinder.wow And 0 Hp increase put in print. But they also put in a stronger charging system to keep battery alive after obligatory aftermarket led lights overtax the charger and kill your gel battery before it cracks open.wowwwww
