This is the greatest individual game of footy I ever saw... Statistically from memory something like 8 goals from a forward flank, 20+ kicks, and about 10 marks against a team that crushed them a few weeks earlier...and then the quality of those stats...freak marks, insane goals, and a couple of absurd close misses...for me it's the greatest ever

hanajinks yeah all those games were some of his absolute best but for highlights wise this for me is his best. Better than his 8 in the state game and better than his 9 in the 89 grand final. Possibly the game in 93 when he kicked 14 was as good as this one 👍

I saw Blight speaking recently about how he hadn't played Stoneham at CHF enough....us fans never really thought of it at the time, probably we were kicking 30 goals every other week....but as Blight said, we'd have lost nothing with Billy at CHF and shored up our defcient Backline...uuurrgghh..anyway..

Kevin Bartlet 21 goals in 3 finals 6 , 8, 7 ,1980 finals series. Ablett 27 goals in four finals. I do agree it was the best grand final performance by Ablett . I just think of the 89 grand final as the Ablett grand final.

Spot on. His 89 finals series was the best exhibition of footy I’ve seen in my lifetime. By a mile. I still watch it regularly.

Goat.

It was a tragedy this team didn't win the flag because they were the most entertaining footy side I've ever seen...the fact that Robert Scott and Barry Stoneham would star but then disappear against the strength of Hawthorn was a big problem. They weren't on their own of course. Incredible that they played the Bombers in the first final and got smashed by 80 points and then turned it around so easily.

His average games shame 95% of AFL players. Easily the best. Most underrated player to ever play is Bruce Doull and I don't follow Geelong or Carlton

Carlton supporter - i think that Bruce was a bit past it at the end. He was still good, but not brilliant.

That's how they get high profile people to conform, he said no so and the story was released. Setup. Most actors, sportspeople become puppets this way.

The girl was 19 at the time. She chose to inject the drugs into her system. He didn't hold her down and inject her against her will. She was a junkie as well, not just him.
