I am an enthusiast of restoring bicycles and have completed 4 restorations of vintage bicycles so far. I've sold two and kept two for my personal use. Yeah I agree, it is fulfilling and makes me happy seeing beat up old bikes get back up and running. Plus its cheap. 😁

Também tive essa impressão....principalmente pelo modelo da coroa, e a impressão que ficou é que somente restaurou o quadro...ou o vídeo foi mau editado.

Good work! Great example displaying that one doesn’t need expensive components to make an old bike work as it was intended, given another chance at life. I am guessing you pull your bikes out of the rivers and sloughs around your area. It is sad that people would dispose of bikes in that manner...thank you, keep doing it!

@@Evgeny_Checker Та он и был по нашим понятиям не чисто горный а скорее циклокросс . Просто в тем времена еще не было четкого разделения на кросс-кантрийники-циклокроссы и настоящие горные велосипеды . Кроме первых уникальных монстров для скоростных спусков с гор и трюков но те были вообще малоизвестны и малочисленны за пределами узкого круга любителей и богатых спортсменов . А вот так на таких раллеях основная масса делала то что сейчас на кросс-кантри и циклокроссах делается . Я видел фильм начал 90тых где в реал тайме снимали как двое парней целый день на подобном велосипеде мотались по городу , делали разные банни-хопы , потом полезли в близлежащие горы и лазили там на велах , умудрялись на жестких вилках и взбираться по каменистым тропам и спускаться .

Regarding your blowtorch method of removing the handlebar stem, I'd like to say that next time, loosen the stem bolt, DON'T remove it. Loosen it a few turns and then tap it as hard as you need to release the wedge locking it in place in the steer tube. Along with spraying some penetrating oil into the steer tube this should loosen things enough so you don't need to resort to potentially damaging heat. Not to mention my method here keeps the wedge attached to the stem lock bolt--making it all easy to remove.

This is the first video of yours I have watched. I am a bike mechanic and focus on precision. There's some things here that hurt to watch (did you re-install headset bearings?) and there's a few things that could be seriously adjusted or reconfigured to improve rideability and performance. But, I really enjoy seeing older bikes get fixed, rebuilds from scratch, and making old 'junk' useable again. Plus you did this without extensive or specific bike tools, and for that I am impressed. Cheers.

thank you friend for attention and advice. about : "did you re-install headset bearings?" this is old bike my friend, not use bearing but use only bullet/steel ball because when i will replace bullet/steel ball with bearing, nothing here. it must be modification again to replace. btw thank you very much.
