Love the progress! My 8 year old daughter was watching this with me and asked, "why is he putting a carseat in his car?" I told her it was a racing seat to which she replied, "oh, it looks like the baby seat in our van, but bigger!". Lol!

I’m glad you gave a size reference to the seat. I’m having a hard time picking a seat. I’m a bigger guy, so most likely the corbeau fx1 wide will be my go to. I’m just going to have to do some measuring to see if 2 will fit in my 91 hatch.

Looking good I want to do all the same mods. I used the dry Ice method to remove the sound deadening in the cargo area behind the seats, it worked great. I plan on removing the rest of the sound deadening this winter. It can get as cold as -10°F here, I'd just tap it with a hammer and should come right out.

I’m currently tracking a crx and my biggest issue is seat height! My head hits the roof with a helmet on. Do you have that issue with these? Are they sitting lower than oem seats and are you taller? I’ve considered removing the spot welded seat supports and welding to the floor.

My helmet hit also in big bumps. I'm short 5'9". This feels like it's lower. I'll find out on the 24th for sure.

I noticed it looked like your running stock rotor size and calipers, how has that set up done for you? I do assume you’re running better pads and 4dot fluid. I got an 89 si and been thinking about going to the da spindles with mini rotors and itr caliper
@GarageBuiltHondas
Жыл бұрын
I have DA spindles with wilwood Calipers. DOT3 still. Works fine and I have a lot of experience on track. Will go to some race fluid in the future though. If you're not tracking/racing your car that setup really isn't necessary. Unless your at the point where your car is hooked up everywhere else and you just want a bigger brake setup then that works too. For a daily, I'd spend the money elsewhere personally.

There's a lot of posts on forums and such that harness bars are unsafe, and a full roll cage is the only safe way to mount a 5 point harness. I autox my Rex, and want to do some HDPE, and I feel a good seat/harness would be beneficial. But I can't get over the harness bar haters. Thoughts?
@adamproctor7316
Жыл бұрын
There are always gonna be critics And the "safety nerds" ! I agree the most "safe" way is definitely gonna be a cage. But I have a hard time believing a harness bar is less safe than a plane seat belt. I mean it's definitely an improvement! So do the best you can afford! And let the haters hate wile your turning laps and having fun. If u can upgrade again in the future and get a full cage then great! If not then that's fine as well. Just have as much fun as you can have with your budget. The hell with those haters.

A roll bar/cage setup is best for sure. It won't crumple as easily as a harness bar. I wanted a bar, but didn't have time to get one welded in before this season ends and I wanted to enjoy the last few events. My plan is to buy a roll cage and have it installed during the offseason and sell the harness bar st that point.
@foonarf

I try to only do things to my Rex that I can "return to stock" if I wanted to some day. In my head, putting in a full cage takes it past the point of no return. Though, with an LSVTEC turbo that only runs E85, I've wandered pretty far into the dark side. But I still don't want to destroy the interior. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and all the videos.
