This is gold mate! I remember being here while I was about 10yrs old. I think we listened to Dire Straits on the way there. Was Lucky enough to have a couple of laps around Baypark with Vigor. Sat on the battery and held on to the roll cage. OSH would love that today!! If you have anymore old footage from the era, please post!

This was the best kind of racing. Home built, agricultural as hell, powerful and damn fast

Brett Willis came to our home here in the states after selling the car in this race (#11). I was only 8yrs old or so, they slept in their van in our driveway after buying a Camaro to ship back to New Zealand. I have been trying to find him now that I am older, I would love to get in touch with him to see how he is doing.

Bretts dad Lindsay built me a replica of this car, I raced it all over NZ until a big crash in Taupo ended my racing forever. Bretts still lives in Rotorua and is still racing you could look him up through his dad Lindsay. Cheers

@@christoms5050 thanks so much Chris. I finally caught up with Susan, his wife, on Facebook and were able to chat a little. Sorry about the wreck but glad you are still with us bud. Going to try and save up a little and go watch him race and visit a bit, next time he is in the States. Thanks again, Take care.
