Wow great video on the ride...made feel like I was on my 85 Maxim X...I had the same color...should never sold that bike... I drove it off of the show room floor in 1985 sold it to buy a house... Thanks for the smiles this morning....

Wow, this brings back so many memories! I had an '86 XJ700 as my first bike. Same color, air-cooled, exactly like this one! The motor sounds incredible when you really get on it. Man, I loved that thing. Thanks for sharing!

Ye sit was my very first one also, I love this bike

Bought one new in 86. First new bike. Fast and awesome. No idea why I sold it years later. Been through many bikes since.

just put my 86 Maxim X up for sale. My buddy bought it new back in 86. I bought it from him in 89. 32k miles on mine though. This video makes me think I might not let it go. I still think its beautiful.

Hey brotha! Just bought the same bike ran into some issues with gas leaking out of the carbs do they need rebuilt!? Bike was running fine before then just started sputtering not wanting to run on its own power

Could be needing rebuilt, rubber tips might be bad, check float level what position do you have gas valve turned to? Not prime I hope? Had to ask I’ve seen it before

@@billon2wheels so I had it on prime and that’s when it would dump the gas never rode it on prime or anything like that always on on then when I wasn’t riding I’d put it on res

@@mikexhough another issue could be the petcock it’s vacuum activated but carbs should stop gas flow , your gonna have to get into
