1985 Jeep CJ7: Valve Cover Upgrade

Ойын-сауық

In this video, the objective was to stop the leaking oil down the sides of the engine block. Here, I upgrade to a cast aluminum valve cover, getting rid of the OEM plastic piece of junk, and a FelPro valve cover gasket.

Nice , fairly straightforward project. Good looking valve cover too!

Thanks! Hopefully, I won't have any leaky issues coming from it anymore.

Just did the same project about 2 months ago. Instead of bolts I used studs with T bar hold downs; it makes the one in the rear much easier to deal with.

That's a good idea! However, I don't think id have enough room in the back for a T-handle.

@@Curts_C10 You don't, the bar hits when you turn it so I knocked it out and just use the end of it(or a small phillips screwdriver) in the hole.

Nice job! Man I was hoping to see a good shot of how you mounted your air conditioning compressor! Only thing I can find is for serpentine belts!

Thanks Jim. The bracket I used to mount the compressor and alternator was that which came with the kit, which I bought from Jeep Air. It was a bit of a pain to install, but a nice bracket specifically made for this application.
