The Flight Pod looks great with a Cobra Commander (helmet) or Cobra Viper as a pilot. One of my all time favorite Cobra toy vehicles. It is small but it looks awesome and has great play value.

the Trubble Bubble seemed to be Cobra Commanders choice escape vehicle, so it has that for it, as well as the prototype Firebat.

This little vehicle still looks cool.

I always wanted this, and a Cobra Viper glider as a kid! Thanks for sharing!

i love this vehicle,it's hard to believe it never had any comic book appearances, considering how much it was in the cartoon.

I can definitely see some heavy changes that the modern versions made from the original, even though they look nearly identical. As michael schmidt noted below, the back peg in the seat was swapped for a waist clip. Two rubber hoses were added from the body to the laser, and the obvious lack of the mine. The hinge for the front piece was lowered, which means the laser now acts as a front rest if you sit it down, and for whatever reason the big tab keeping the rockets attached was replaced with two pegs. I wish the tab was retained, the two smaller pegs feel a bit insufficient to keep them attached.

I have Kre-o version of this and I always use it with Cobra Commander driving.

Even though I had the aircraft carrier, and many of the larger vehicles there were quite a few of the smaller ones I didn't have that I would have really liked. The "Trouble Bubble" is one of them.

You answered a lot of questions for me. I always found the mine as an unecessary item. I didn't know it was a mine for that matter, as well as it being able to fit onto the back peg. But what are the two eyelets for?

I always thought it was cool. It seemed like to me a cheap way for COBRA to save money but have a one man transport with a laser lol. It's good for fast escapes as well.

A classic vehicle, almost ubiquitous in the cartoon series.

Great review, Kevin. It's very helpful to have this because I've seen a lot of parts on eBay, but needed to see what it looks like complete.
