Good review. I live in Canada and had the 86 however it was exactly the same as the 85 you are showing here. I’m absolutely positive that it was 1986 on the steering column. Must be just the month they where manufactured. Was the greatest toy.

Amazing how much they are different. And Yamaha bansheee ran more so many years not changing hardly anything. Great video

Exhaust silencer mounting is different, seat height is different, foot peg differences, carrier differences, front fork springs, kicker collar difference, wiring/Cdi differences, and some other things I forgot

The carbs .. 85 had a PE round slide carb , 86 had a PJ oval slide carb . 86 seat was 1" taller than 85

Honda completely dominated in the 80’s and these are 2 examples of why.

I am posting this around to see if anyone knows......My 85 came out of the crate with a seat saying ''ATC''....not 250R! It was one of the first in California, not late in the model year!

Unless you saw it with your own eyes I’d say someone swapped it with an 86 seat.

@@darestorations Yes, I watched it be assembled and it was long before an 86 was available and it is clearly lower in profile like an 85 seat! The fender was also 85 style. Sadly, I sold it after 8 years....it was a Freak or Aliens?

And I believe the 86 has the 250r decal on the front fender which is missing
