All the Yamaha xj’s were great working bikes. When I was in High School guy had a XJ 650 Turbo. That bike worked really good, fast.

Chances are you have a leak coming out of the anti-dive where the o-rings are. I've read some will replace the o-rings on those things and still have leaks. They're tricky little buggers. Thanks for the vid.

That crossed my mind, but i didn't remove either side and they didn't leak a drop for 2-3 months than they both leaked out about a week a part. weird.

@@MOAB Did that happen after you replaced the fork oil? Did you spray carb cleaner around those seals? You might have disturbed the ecosystem within those anti-dive units causing the leaks.

Hi Bruce, I think I would be inclined to cut the fablon? Into 4 or 5 strips. You may see the joins, but think you'd have a better chance of making it sit flat. Maybe screw the screen temp on outside of fairing so you don't have to hold onto it during the fight.? Haha. Best wishes

Getting the carbs out and back in is really a pain. Got the same leak in this plastic part after I only cleaned the bottom parts of the carbs, so I needed to do it a second time. he 4BB has that full t-part between 2 and 3. ultimately I did a full carb rebuild. Here is a very good instruction kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJ6JyaWnfprVZ7g.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/YqZhtMt6aNHedpM.html Both times had my son as a helper to get it in and out. Luckily that thing runs now. Good hint is to replace all the Phillips screws with Inbus.
