Knew a guy who had one of these in a 42 foot lobster boat. She'd do 40 knots hoss. Slam the fuel to her the bow would stand up. Yes sir. Those engine might be better for diesel mutiple unit. But we don't have DMU here in America

Local guy has a 1980 359 with a 3408, monster of a engine, hardly fits in the frame, but I have only owned Cummins so you know what I would rather have, little easier to work on also

It's a KTA 19 but not tuned up. You can get them beefed up because it's mechanical and you can tune the injectors up and the fuel pump up by hand

NO!!! I have 1st dibbs on her, lol lol lol. My boss had an 1985 359 model Peterbilt that i drove for 8 years. i tried to by her a couple of different times, but he was asking way to much "green paper" for her. Thats her in my profile picture. Baby blue 359 model Peterbilt with 400 horse big cam lll Cummins with 15 spd overdrive Fuller/Eaton Roadranger & 2.55 rears on the drivers. I still to this day wish that I coulduh bought the ole girl.

The Big Cam number 3 has a lot of upsides to and ran great. The K model has a power increase with a larger range of horse and torque options making a great pulling motor but when it comes to fuel and maintenance, it’s a good motor. Maybe the price will come down on this

dang buring oil at idling? = better check the oiling on the valve train or any other areas around engine that could be buring oil. old cummins are beast but gotta be really vigiulant on maintenance. overall still the best cummins around

The KTA always smokes even when new. Had one in an 1150 versatile
