I was a young kid back then. Pitt had huge linemen on both sides during all those glory years. Made damn near every team they played look like a JV. I was a SWC nut being from Texas, but I loved watching those monsters from Pitt anytime they were on TV. Full of Bruiser Brody dudes.

Thanks man, this was an instant classic game even though my Dawgs lost it. We were 33-3 in Herschel's 3 years and the 3 teams we lost to had a combined record of 34-2.

That 1983 team that followed without Hershel wasn't half bad either! 10-1-1 with a win over #2 Texas and only loss to an 11-1 Auburn team. Amazing four-year span for UGA!

@@tmarsh0307 I am a Oklahoma fan.But I loved watching those Georgia teams with Herschel Walker......Till this day I wish Herschel would have came back for his Senior Year.

@@johnmanning4097 They would have won the National Championship in 1983 with Walker. He would have been the difference in that tie and loss.

I didn't realize how big that touchdown pass to John Brown was due to the fact that it was on fourth down

It's not only Pitt Miami dolphins have sucked two the common dominator no dan Marino. The dolphins haven't had a quarterback since Marino retired and it ant no secret why just like last year could have drafted there first real quarterback since Marino in Justin herbert but no they drafted a 5,8 left handed quarterback tua suck alo who would have never been a first round quarterback if he hadn't played on ever player is a 5 star Alabama. But that's what your scouts are suppose to realize. Between Miami tearing down the greatest stadium they ever had the orange bowl and sorry ownership no wonder the dolphins and the hurricanes have sucked for so long.

Yea man they seemed to play with such heart back then. Guys were flying around hitting people all over the field. I think its bc most of them were actually from Pittsburgh and it meant something

Pitt had 2 great offensive linemen in Covert and Fralic. Covert was one of the Hogs for the Redskins and Fralic was in WrestleMania II. They outsized and outmuscled the Georgia defense. And Georgia's OL were tiny!

My Dad and I was there in the Dome watching it live. I was 14 at the time. 54 now. A great game. 1st time watching it live on u-tube tonight! Not to be a sore loser, I saw at least 3 terrible mis calls by the refs that I didn't catch watching live but can see now. No matter. Just cherish my time with my old man who is now passed. The super dome is awesome! Also watched the Saints There with Kenny Stabler and Earl Campbell, Morten Anderson and George Rogers later! Anderson was their offence. Always had a good defense but they would get tired by the 4th quarter because they stayed on the field the entire game. I was a diehard Saint's fan since I was 14. I loved the Saints and watched them win a Super Bowl. I'm very sad to say, after the kneeling during the National anthem, I haven't watched an NFL game in over 4 years. Everything woke and Dem's touch turns to instant shit! A fuckin shame!
