Yes i noticed that too. The cost of bringing you and your family on the ferry to Holyhead was huge money compared to today.

Yes but the cost of property was significantly cheaper, therein lies the problem 👍🏻

Watching in 2024, things look cheaper for sure. The interest rates offered by the banks and building societies were amazing.

I remember loads of these ads. A time when we used the Imperial Measurement System, and the Euro wasn't even thought about.

I remember some of them now, long time ago when everything was different.

That "new kirk fly" stop sounds like an apres match parody, then again all the ads were like this on Arr TE in the 70s/80s , cheap as fuck!

i do remember some of these ads

EEeugh! Clinic shampoo - was like drenching your hair in blue washing-up liquid. And those dreadful dead-pan live-reads over the captions. I think the deal was that the voice-over artists had to be paid extra, if the client wanted the advert to sound interesting.

Jonathan from Bosch yes, think was not on Bosch but play the game the charades game show on Saturday evening with Derrick Davis God rest his soul. That jumbo ad was around for years as I was only born in 1983 and remember it.
