One of my favorite commercials from childhood.

i miss the light hearted mcdonalds commercials from the 80's. the ones these days are either incredibly bland or just plain weird.

This is a true classic from the 80's that I remember coming on television on Saturday mornings when I was watching my cartoons as a child. This commercial aired for a long time, I remember it gracing the airwaves for a solid year or so if not longer and I remember absolutely loving this (and other) McDonald's commercials back in the day. Man, McDonald's commercials today can't hold a candle to classics such as this, I totally miss these characters.

Man, I actually remember seeing this commercial on tv!

i think years of negative publicity probably forced mcdonalds to get rid of the characters

OMG....this used to come on ABC during sat. morning cartoons before cable/dish was common in the mid 80s. I remember watching this when I was in grade school.....took me back about 20 years...thanks for posting it.

It's amazing how I remember these commercials like it was yesterday and i'm 29.

I clearly remember seeing this commercial for the first time back in the day during Spiderman and his Amazing Friends on Saturday morning. Good memories

I remember this commercial.. it reminds me of my days working at mcdonalss cause my suoervisor had a shirt with this yellow bird on it. i alwayus wanted one but could not get it

They had to because the mascots attract a lot of kids and some of their meals are unhealthy like burgers and fries and kids tend to eat a lot of them which causes serious illnesses like heart disease and fatigue.

@@christopher32074 They also got rid of them because they didn’t fit in with the new modernized McDonalds since the new McDonalds has self order kiosk, more appealing to adults, and playgrounds have been removed. They officially removed them after the rash of creepy clown sightings.

I miss all the old McDonald's commercials like this one! They were awesome when I used to watch them as a kid haha

In the late 90's, a war was waged on kids' TV. Saturday morning cartoons were labeled 30 min toy commercials and consumerist propaganda. Fast food kids' commercials were supposedly pressuring children into unhealthy lifestyles. As a result we lost all of these lovable characters and their heartwarming messages. Now in their place, an endless barrage of cell phones, car insurance, and ASK YOUR DOCTOR TODAY for more DRUGS. Wow, great job guys.

John fielder was the voice of piglet in Winnie the Pooh series as the narrator.

I remember about two years ago they had Ronald on CNN and they asked him if Grimace was in shape and Ronald replied "Well we don't know what Grimace is, but according to him he's in shape for his kind so I guess he is." The point to this anecdote:Not even McDonalds knows what Grimace is.

What a clever name for a bird! BIRDIE! Also, I'm a child of the 80's and this is seriously making me want some McDonalds, which I swore off eons ago. :/

Yeah, she sounds like Sherri and Terri. This was probably one of the first commercials that featured Hamburgler the way he looks today. Btw, is that Piglet narrating this commercial?

hambuglar's now a retired charater. bring hambuglar back. but they still use ronald mcdonald and grimace. but they don't use them on a daily basis anymore :(

If TV was still like this, the kids of today would have more confidence.

@heartrocketblast They actually make the kids' meals taste better than the regular menu. This makes a positive impression of the food quality of McDonald's in their impressionable young minds.

Back when he had four arms, they were. But back then, he was the Evil Grimace, an evil gumdrop-shaped kind of character who loved to steal McDonald's shakes, his favorite drink. After he lost his second set of arms and dropped the "Evil" from his name, he became a lovable dimwit ala a precursor to Patrick Star of Spongebob fame.

I missed the McDonald’s play place. By 2015, it was gone and now they made it smaller. I missed the good old days. McDonald was the only childhood I lived.

@AmericanEvita yeah dude Im welll aware of many of the great voice actors... the original voice was also a character on gilligans island a pigeon owner who kept getting notes from his carrier pigeon from gilligan and the professor. but actualy sadly the voice here is not him... this here is john fielder who is still the voice ... along with jim cummings the voice of winnie and tiger and taz, mrbumpy , bonkers, darkwing duck and the list goes on
