It still amazes me how many innovations these older Fords had for the 79 & 80 model years. Like the digital dash, electronic door chime, and these cars were one of the first to feature a keyless entry system.

Very, very VERY beautiful. I'm about to take possession of an '83 Cartier Town Car painted exactly that way - blue at the top, silver at the sides and turbine wheels. It's a four door, though, with cloud-plush blue velour in it. Take good care of that one - you've got a rare gem there. They're rare to see on the road NOW. 10 years or so from now, they'll be even harder to come by.

Beautiful car and they are much under-appreciated. I think the 1980 models also came with a 351 rather that the 305 in the 81,82 and 83's.

For the Mark VI 2 door, Ford should have done something to the greenhouse to make it more sleek. Cut the roof height by a few inches and slope the windshield and back light like the Mark V. Sacrifice some space for visuals. The thing looked like a brick! The interiors were awesome, however.

to me this was always a better size than the Mark V. Nice car and I think these sold much better than the Town Coupe which is why they discontinued the Town Coupe. ( plus they only sold less then 5,000 Town Coupes in 1981). Always seemed odd because Cadillac made their Coupe deVille till 93 I believe, and you always saw lots of those running around, but for some reason Lincoln had trouble selling them after the downsize in 1980.

My favorite interior of any Mark any year and I bet you feel the same way Scott! Richard Carpenter had bought a couple of Marks from Sachs Lincoln Mercury in Downey back in the 70s!

Very nice! I love cloth seats then leather. Does this have the keyless entry system? I wished that I could buy it. I love the electronic instrument panel! What a dream car!

+Terrence Gold Great idea, would look awesome, either a jammed up cassette player (tapes had just great sound, I bet you'll never even move up those new fangled CD things) or else 8 crack, HIGH TECH! Maybe source some shitty old FoMoCo speakers too, keep "quality is job shit" deal all around, or oh wait, oh wow, what if he could maybe do a bunch of time stealing "mods" and swap in that "awesome" Ford/JBL system (hey anything compared to pure shit probably sounds awesome!) , where UNLIKE cpl years EARLIER when GM beat them to it (hey pattern here-75 Seville, real deal begats bullshit Versailles in 77, if you don't see a Monarch with the chintzy as all chintz "continental wheel trunk bulge" and knock off RR grille slapped on it, get some glasses for God's sake, Seville in 78 and 79 each year outsells ALL Verfails ever made! Then, Caddy's 80 Seville, THE "Yeah, I made it!" sedan of the early 80's gets knocked off with that blown shit shocks, riding on the ass Cuntinmental crap wagon and GM says Hey Bose, build us a KILLER sound system and Bose works its wild speaker cabinet designs and gets strong, tight bass from four 4" woofers in those perfectly tuned cabinets, so Floored pays off JBL (prob near broke pre-Harman buyout days, like an AIDS ridden crack trick twink boy, willing to sell the JBL to ANYONE!) and sticks slightly better than usual crap speakers with a JBL label and hey, more premium factory audio!! Not so fast Mr Fart Bass!!!!
