The younger guys on this project are lucky to have a skilled and honest tradesman like this to work for. They will never be out of work if they follow his lead and his apparent honesty.

Many of the best days of my life were spent working construction with my dad and brother both in town and out of state. "Do whatever it takes to get the job done." was instilled in me by my dad because we had to get done regardless of the problem. I still get that, "I built that.", feeling 40 years later when I happen to drive by a job I haven't passed in a while. Thanks for sharing your work. It brought back fond memories for me.

I started my 25' x 30' garage on may 1st spent about $3k on all the framing siding and roof metal and materials. Finished it about middle of June. That does not include slab or roll up doors but all other materials. I went to the lumber store to get a few things middle of July and prices for all materials had risen by 30 to 70%. Looks like I won't be doing any more projects for a while. It's ridiculous.

Demand for housing has not diminished due to this 2020 Covid Pandemic, the demand has infact risen, but lumber mills had to shutdown for a bit at the height of the pandemic. Supply and Demand Economics has shot lumber prices through the proverbial roof. Trade War issues have increase nails and screw prices too. This equates to higher material cost prices for the build. Will the prices go down when things level out? Only time will tell. Great looking garage. Love the attention to quality.

After doing concrete my whole life, I am glad to see Ken doing it exactly right. It is so easy for someone to add too much water (weakening the strength) just to make it easier to pour. Ken poured this slab at a perfect slump. He did not cut corners to make it easier or cheaper. My hat is off to you and your company Ken. I learned a lot in 35 years, but I sure don't miss it ! I loved the part of "Better is One day in Your Courts"! Obviously you're a man of God. Great work and video. I only wish I could have seen some of the framing being done. You sir, have gained a new subscriber!

Man oh man, times have changed. If I was caught on my phone texting or just on the phone at work 11:18, I would have been fired! I miss construction and I don't. It damn sure taught me a lot. Nice work Ken!

Always a pleasure to watch you and your crew. So organized, no wasted time or movements. Funny how they charge more at the lumber yard but they pay the small wood producer less for his logs

That is a large price increase for lumber. That is going to hurt everyone.

Thanks for sharing. They have made it easier for the large suppliers to raise their prices and the small stores acn't compete anymore.

Went to lowes last week 2x4x8 was 3.15 now over 6.00 and 2x6x8 was 5.12 now over 10.00. All my projects went straight on hold!

My builder is calling it the “scamdemic” . He has never seen lumber prices so high. Your build looks great.

Beautiful job on the garage construction. I like the fact that you don't scrimp on using fasteners.
