I'm a Red Sox fan, but even I got caught up in the post game wrap up. We Are Family by Sister Sledge playing in the background, as the Pirates TV network celebrated the team taking over first place in the National League East. Awesome.

My favorite was anything with the yellow caps. The Pirates wore mustard colored pillbox caps in 1976 and switched to a brighter yellow with the uniform changes in 1977. But the black caps were epic as well.

As an Expos fan I don't love the outcome of this game but I do love being able to watch it on KZread, and the picture quality is fantastic considering it's from 1979. These were the two best uniforms in the game for my money. Nothing beats the red, white & blue of the Expos or their iconic logo in my opinion but as a kid collecting baseball cards back then the Pirates and their black & yellow unis were my next favourite colour scheme and just as cool to me. You had to respect the legends on that team like Parker, Stargell, Madlock, Tekulve, etc., and so many other great contributors like Bibby, Moreno, Easler and Foli (the ex-Expo). Great to see my favourite Expo from childhood Larry Parrish hit a two-run homer in this game. What amazing talent we had back then with a line-up including Dawson, Carter, Valentine, Cromartie, Parrish, Perez, Scott and Speier, and bench contributors like Cash and White. Cool to see Staub back for his second stint with the Expos as well and the ovation he received. When you consider how close the 95-win Expos came to winning the NL East that year, this game really mattered in a big way to both teams. Unfortunately for Expos fans we were always the bridesmaids and never the bride. Thanks for uploading and for keeping those hilarious old commercials intact.

I enjoy your archive of these games. Tremendous to see the crowd support that the Expos achieved, and the passion that Pirates fans were able to demonstrate. It has been a challenging multiple decades for Pirates fans, unfortunately.

Matt A, My all time favorite team, I watched that entire series at my friend's house who's dad and family were huge Orioles fans, When the Pirates went down 3-1 they were convinced that it was over and said Baltimore is going to win the series, I said Pittsburgh is coming back and taking it all and they did just that, I remember Pop's big homer that pretty much sealed it Tekulve nailing it down out of the bullpen and I can still see Omar Moreno squeezing the last out, I was 15 years old in 1979, I remember it like it was yesterday.

@@timmccartney2136 That absolutely stinks about the NFL games. I mean, you were uploading games from 35-40+ years ago. It's ridiculous how the NFL is so touchy about that when these were really old games. At this point, why give people grief over uploading them especially when the other leagues don't seem to mind if old content winds up on KZread.

I think what was better about MLB then, because it wasn't those uniforms and that turf, is the fact that roster salary totals weren't as lopsided toward large markets as they are now.

Milo Hamilton was a hall of fame announcer and very competent. But he replaced the fired Bob Prince, who was beloved in Pittsburgh just like Harry Caray was in Chicago. Milo did a great job, but the fans never embraced him. You never be the guy who replaces the guy. While Milo was great on the air, he was kind of prickly off the air, which might have hurt his chances to catch on in Pittsburgh.
