I got in to Studio 54 when I was 15 years old. I had two good friends who were regulars there and Steve was outside and waved us right in through the crowd and past the velvet ropes. It was INSANE! Celebrities, athletes, politicians and wonderful artists. There was debauchery and massive amounts of drugs happening especially in the balcony. It's 100% true that people would stand outside the velvet ropes and wait to be "picked" to get in. NYC in the 70's was off the hook.

So singles weren't allowed? But if you went with a friend or friends yet you still met someone?

A brilliant narcissist. He was Jewish and he called his own people “Yids”. All he had to do was pay his taxes. R.I.P. Jackass. Mike Myers did a fantastic job playing him in 54🥂🍷🍸🍺🥃

@@sparrowprince3432 Exactly. He would’ve still been snorting coke of ass’s in the 90’s if he just paid tax.

Have you heard of Meyer Lansky? I would imagine that the protection money you had to pay isn’t a tax deductible

Indeed he was. I read a Blog post from a fellow gay colleague of his that described all the horrible things he did on his final night Alive. He was an AIDS vector. Infected tons of men that night.
