"The Division 2 cars had some troubles to be prepared in time for this last race; only two hours were not enough for Cheever’s car, Surer’s car was too damaged, but both Hahne and Heyer took the start with cars looking quite in order. In Division 1, only Wollek’s Porsche was not able to take part. This was solved by putting Wollek in the Martini 935 while Ickx again drove the baby Porsche. Hezemans took over the second Loos car, while the Dutchman’s Escort was piloted by Klaus Ludwig.
Hezemans took the lead with high boost, and disappeared into the distance. Schurti passed the Martini car and closed in on Hezemans - a slow puncture on the Loos car finally ended the drive. Stommelen now got to the front, but a stone damaged his oil cooler, making it necessary to pit twice for oil and a clean widow. Schurti finally had his deserved victory with Wollek second and Stommelen still third. Winkelhock, driving neat, finished fourth and won Division 2 - also helped by the fact that his competitors ran in all sorts of problems. Röhrl, way in the lead and in between the Porsches, lost his differential, Heyer broke his rear axle, Hahne had ignition troubles and Ludwig lost his engine oil. The last opponent for Winkelhock, Peter Hennige, also had ignition troubles and could only manage third in class, behind the baby Porsche."

Ich war dabei - knapp 20 Jahre alt, auf der Steintribüne ganz oben - heute verboten - mit meiner Minolta und 300 mm Festbrennweite! Die goldene Ära des Automobils - und den, der diesen Spruch geprägt hat, Rainer Braun, hört man so schön im Anfang der Aufnahmen! 1000 Dank für dieses Dokument einer anderen - in vielen Hinsichten . besseren Zeit!

Ein Traum! Das war noch Motorsport, PS Monster ohne Fahrhilfen und die Zuscherränge brechend voll! Gäbe es doch nur eine Zeitmaschine um an diesem Tag dabei zu sein :))
