Video taught me something. Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection. Like what is on the BMW 2002 TII - Kugelfischer Kugelfischer is the name for a mechanical fuel injection (MFI) pump. It was produced by FAG Kugelfischer and later by Robert Bosch GmbH. Derived from diesel pumps from the early 1960s, the Kugelfischer system was the most widely-adopted mechanical injection pump for performance vehicles. It was among the first units with manufacturer-customizable fuel delivery maps which used rpm, throttle position, temperature, and sometimes barometric pressure as inputs. This was accomplished mechanically, not electronically. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, it was fitted to a variety of production vehicles from BMW, Ford UK, Lancia, Peugeot, Ferrari and others. It is perhaps best known for its use by BMW in the 2000tii/2002tii (and later, the 2002 Turbo) performance sedan from 1970-1975, the 1964-1976 Porsche 911/911S/Carrera RS/RSR/Carrera MFI, and the BMW M1 Procar from 1978-1981. Due to high manufacturing cost however, it became economically undesirable with the introduction of cheaper electronic engine management systems (and continuous-injection mechanical systems) by the end of the decade. However, the Kugelfischer system continued to be used as a specialty injection pump for purpose-built race engines into the 1980s such as the 1982 Porsche 911 SC/RS. It is very much like the Spica mechanical fuel injection pump used on Alfa Romeo, which also was derived from a diesel fuel injection pump.

So is this car a Carrera? The ‘74-‘75 2.7 MFI cars were Carrera’s.
I bought one in 2003, for.......£4.5k!!!!!! It was lethal, the only 911 I've ever spun, twice. I failed to see the trend when I sold it 3 months later for 8.5. A bit of research sees it currently for sale as a non running project. 35k these days is still a lot for a car that needs A LOT of work. So I ain't buying it back!
is it that much of a challenge to keep it on your side of the road?

MFI = Mechanical Fuel Injection?..........good ol Angeles Crest.........One day I was driving up there and they were pulling one of the Hillside Strangler's victims up the steep terrain to the road...sad
How do you work on the cars with all that hair and beard? It seems very impractical.
How did that beard fit in that car? 👀
That bus was rude.

3 cars on my wish list from this epic era in the middle of 'old' and 'modern': Alfa Romeo GT 105, Porsche 911, and Ferrari Dino GTS. The first is already in my garage, maybe the second comes someday, the third i'm afraid will remain a dream. i'm not rich and i consider myself very lucky everyday i get in that jewel.
Wait is Mangus a Crip???
