I worked at a car dealer in 1974 where the sales manager had one of these. His was BRG with 'biscuit' interior - I've been in love with this model ever since.

I'd let those bumper guards gather dust in the garage, fabricate some proper / smaller replacements, and take my chances.

V12... you would have to drive one to experience how smooth the engine is.

    Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers!

The two black rubber bumpers totally ruin the front of this elegant car. It's only because of the U.S. saftey norms that such an ungly 'make-up' has been made obigatory. In Europe that is totally unnecessary as the long front itself abdorbs the force of an impact according to European standards. The same goes unfortunatly also for the back, but there these 'additions' ae not quite as offensive as on the front. Crossing the uninterrupted yellow line at the end of ths video is obviously an infringement upon traffic regulations.

It's an E Type. There was no such car as an XKE.

It is proper to use both names. Jaguar executives decided that XKE would be a more recognizable name for US customers as it relates to the 120/140/150 history timeline. British and European customers would recognize E-type as it was a continuation of the C and D type race cars. I have several magazines showing American marketing material where the term XKE is used.

Mark Blunck The American marketing material was not sanctioned by Jaguar. The independent US importer took it upon himself to call the car XKE. Jaguar turned a blind eye as it led to US sales.
