Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Follow along as I show you how to replace the floor pan, cab mount, and lower inner door pillar patch on my 1974 F-350. The floor pans and mounts are the same for 73-79 F-150 and F-250's. Earlier models back to 1968 will be the same or very similar.

Jeff's Bronco has those washers that fit that exact hole where the rubber rusts them out, I know because I'm doing the SAME PROJECT! LOL....cab mounts and all

If I remember right he was sold out of them at the time I was doing mine. I seen the other day that he now sells the complete mount that bolts on to the frame.

Bronco Graveyard has the correct washer for all four mount spots. LMC have the entire front cab mounting brackets.

I didn't know LMC had them. I knew Jeffs Bronco Graveyard had them but was sold out at the time when I made this video.

@@BlackLabGarageI get to do mine on my 69 F250 390 3 on the tree soon. Both cab mounts are gone, firewall is rotting, radiator support was non-existent, the fender aprons rotted at the hood hinges, and the bed floor is non-existent. Luckily the guy I get my mustang parts from has a bunch of these trucks on the back of his property and he doesn’t list them so I get first dibs on the stuff I need. I never had any of those issues on my higher mileage 79 f250, oddly enough. It was just missing floor pans, a little of the front of the bed, door bottoms, cab corners, and the roof drip rail on the driver side because of a hole in the roof from some dummy putting an antenna in the middle at one point and just leaving the hole there. I had to make a strip all the way up both door jams where the spot welds fold over for the body panels. The water was traveling down and rotted them out. It was a pain in the behind, and I had to align the body line depth right

This was the first dentside I have ever had that the cab mount was rusted away and gone. I've had them with holes in the floor but not the mount being gone. At some point in the future this truck will be getting a whole new cab put on it since the tree fell on it.@@buttonysquare8501

@@BlackLabGarage I'm working on my 69 F250 now. Same issue with the cab mount frame holes after taking it apart. Exact same issue with the steering column too. The front end 67-79 parts are literally all the same except the bed and doors. Cab mounts are the same but have a different bushing. Would you be able to tell me what you used for that center sleeve/insert you made for the bushings? Mine were rotted and I can't find that anywhere.

@@buttonysquare8501 The frame mount locations are different on an F-350 because of the frame being different. Those sleeves were just steel sleeves that I bought at my local Ace Hardware and then I welded the washer to them.

Can't u grind off the rivets & find another frame mount & just bolt the new one back on?

Yes..that would be the best way to do it but most of these trucks have been crushed around here.

Wow that was a lot of work you handled it like a Boss 🌟🌟🌟🌟 4 Gold ones for you . I have the same poly kit and I see why you put another bushing inside the front washer it has those nubs that fit inside the factory bushing and there not made to be removed the lil nibs keep the bolt from moving around totally stupid design in my opinion . I managed to get them off without breaking them but the looked like a mushroom after removal question for you I have already put the rear upper cab mount in now I need to lift the front of cab to install the upper front and upper radiator support bushings is it ok to lift the cab just enough to get the bushings out without removing my steering Rag joint or anything else ??? When I did it in the rear of cab I didn't need to remove or loosen anything I just seen the added stress on the front bushings .

I’ve only ever did the radiator support bushings by taking the radiator support off but that was because they usually needed other work also. If you have a way to raise both at the same time you should be able to do it. I wouldn’t want to raise the front of the cab with the radiator support not raising up with it. If you have to just unbolt the steering box from the frame so it can come up as you raise the cab and you don’t have to take the steering shaft loose and all that stuff.

I had the opposite problem. I was trying to find a short wheel base bed and couldn’t find one. I actually have a long wheel base bed that someone cut the frame and made a trailer out of it. I use it quite often. I finally found a short bed and got it. It was literally a bed sitting in a field. No frame or anything under it. It is a solid bed but it has some tornado damage I’ll have to fix.
