My first car was a 72 Gran Torino. It was just a grocery-getter, not a Sport, that originally had a 351W. It was given to me at 15 and was a "if you can get it running you can have it" thing. I learned a lot from that car!

What a gorgeous Torino! I could stare all day at the fantastic paint and body lines. But then you popped the hood, and I could stare at the 351C all day, too. What a great car Mr.. Lucarz has brought today. Thanks, Lou!

Wow! That is gorgeous! I was a senior in High School when this car came out and it was one of my favorite cars of that time. Hi, Lou! About that wide mouth look, Uncle Tom McCahill, always known for his witty and whimsical comments, opined that these cars looked like "landlocked tunas sucking air"! Be that as it may, Anthony's car truly lives up to the words "Gran", "Sport" and "fastback", and between Clint Eastwood and Starsky & Hutch, these Torinos have truly become icons! Edelbrock made a Carb in early 70s?
@matthewpaanotorres7309
2 ай бұрын
@@user-ui8or8cq7l Oh, I just realized that was the 80s and 90s. I just realized they were actually Carter carburetors. I thought Edelbrock existed back then because in the 1993 film Dazed And Confused, Wooderson said something about a Double-Pump Edelbrock Intake (DPEI).
How spectacular this 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport looks in the sun with that green (Ivy Glow) and the large side reflective stripes! I like the large, mouth-style front grille, with its twin headlights, and the additional "Ram" air intake on the hood; plus the handsome rectangular taillights recessed into the one-piece chrome bumper (special mention to the immaculate "Cobra Jet" V8 engine bay). Excellent interior combination, with seats, doors and upholstery in green, along with the elegant instrument panel full of dials. Perfect day for the final tour; with that beautiful shot showing his brilliant beak crossing the road... Congratulations to Mr. Lucarz, for his 26 years alongside this Great Classic! Rarely do I like a green-on-green car, but these Torino’s are an exception. I owned the ‘73 version of this car in the late ‘70’s, but with the more common automatic. There was very little ‘Cobra Jet’ left in that 351 by ‘73, as mine could only muster a 16.8@83 mph at E-town but boy that was a quiet comfortable enjoyable car, especially on the highway. What a great example of a seldom seen car. Great video Lou!

Very nicely done car! Always liked the '72 Sports. It's not just the scoop for me but entire design like the grille and those sport gauges. CJ 4spd for sure top of food chain. Back in 1978 there was one at the VW dealer in Marquette, Mi but it had been converted to a 429 CJ 4spd by someone in Detroit area when car was new. Dealer wanted 5k for it. Same color combo. (Yes I am well aware ford did not build 429 CJ's in 1972.) I was out on a drive when I spotted the car on dealer lot. I stopped by driving my 1 of 6 Mercury Capri 425hp 427 4spd 1 of only 6 built. While I went for test drive in the torino the manager asked me for keys for the 427 Comet as was pretending to trade it in. I told him he would have to wait until I returned. And yet another story when I let him test drive the Comet.

Hi Ike, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
G'day Lou, Even by the 3rd generation there isn't a bad angle on these Torino's, they just got better with every generation & I have a soft spot for the 1972. I believe it was the final year of the sport roof ( Fast Back ), body lines, can one of your great subscribers correct me. Great great Torino. Cheers Louis Kats your number 1 Fan in Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 🇺🇸
