Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Be proud. That’s a very special car. I acknowledge that we are all constantly blown away by how many “survivors” we keep finding. It’s incredible. Even the ones that are totally shot but the fact that they were found after who knows how long, is simply incredible. That said, there were only so many Torinos made at all, and of course when you get down to the options list it can get really short. But I’ll make this claim and give a generous number. Let’s categorize as 1970-1971 Torinos, all of them, wagons, four doors, the lot, even Rancheros. Now unrestored, in that kind if shape, there can’t be more than about 20-25. Let’s take it up to just complete cars, it’s all there, but in rough but functioning shape, and I’d say maybe 30. Point is that when they are left alone, but not too much in the elements, they last. But if I cut out all but two door, either roof, 302-429 engine range, whatever trim level, including Falcons and Fairlane variants of those same two years, there can’t be more than about 10 in this kind of shape, unrestored. It blows my mind. Our modern cars are ARGUABLY better cars. Most of the parts actually last longer, the paint certainly does, interior, accessories, and the engines commonly go well Oast 250,000 miles before they need a “rebuild”, as it was called. Now they just get a refurb for about what they could spend doing it themselves. Bottom line is that I have been observing and compiling this kind of info fir about 30 years. At one point, until about 2005, I had vowed never to have, as my car, anything made after 1971. Then I bought a Magnum. It’s had a few problems, but they were more human error than junk materials and engineering. At 175,000 miles, the interior, except for the drivers butt, presents as new. I never ArmorAll it, just wipe it down with hot wet rag, and often. Never really waxed it. Only as needed to get rid of some scratches. Only washed by band maybe 10 times, always the touch less machines, as I have black point, and no noticeable swirl marks, clear coat is solid, zero rust anywhere except for suspension pieces and some hangers, but just surface rust, transmission has been bulletproof, even pulling a 2500 lb trailer for about 1/3 of its miles. Engine has been solid too, except fir routine stuff, but had a rear main seal leak recently, only for two days, got it fixed under extended warranty, cost me $100. A few other things like alternator, compressor, water pump, but all of those were because of service department issues. They were in denial about a pinhole radiator leak that ruined all of those components. Plus my RT is faster than all but the tip top muscle cars of yore, gets almost twice the mileage, has a better torque curve, and 110mph feels like 60. And with some TLC can look pretty close to new. It’s a 20 footer, fir sure. But the one thing no modern car has to compare with the likes of this Torino, is character. I had a 1971 500 with a 302-2V, two door. I loved that car, and no one had one. Then I had a 1968 Country Squire 390, and a 1967 LTD two door, 390. Those cars really had character. It can’t be bought or designed in. It’s about compromises and “flaws”. But that’s why you love them. Yeah it got 12mpg and the exhaust manifolds leaked fumes into the passenger compartment even less than a year after replacing the gaskets. Yes the doors needed hinge replacements. Yes one of the fuel gauges didn’t work, but every 200 miles, top her off. Character. Don’t restore that car. I’ll bet there’s not ONE other one like it. That makes it priceless.

I found a '71 Torino GT with the 351 4v Cleveland and a 4 speed hurst manual in a junkyard here in Texas. The car in this video is very similar only the one I found is in Calypso Coral. I'm considering buying it and fixing it up.

@@deezway1169 If built to his 71 spec the torque converter is not the correct one unless they used them in 71 but i cant say either way for sure, the valve body of trans i do not know if same or diff.
