Sunbeam was a lovely name for a car marque, and this is a very charming car.

Had a bright orange one back in the 80's with the H120 engine. Could really shift, with the 4-speed box with overdrive on 3rd and 4th. The pillarless windows make it a joy in the Summer. The looks have aged superbly - wouldn't mind one now !

This car reminds me to three other cars.Frontend-Jensen Interceptor,side view-Renault 17 Coupé and rear view-Aston Martin DB5.

My old man bought one of these second hand in the seventees. It was a mauve colour with black interior. Cool car with that overdrive system. All that did was actually drop the revs and make the car more economical at higher speeds. Fond memories of The Sunbeam Rapier as a kid.

We had a few of these , always rust on drivers wheel arch. My dad got me one for when I passed my test but we sadly had to sell it b4 I could as we moved house. I would love to get hold of one with the fabric sun roof. But I bet there like rocking horse 💩 these days

Saw a new one of these being abused at a grass track event in the early seventies. The boot lid sprang open and the spare wheel and tools flew out! must have been a rich person who couldn't resist the race.

And manufacturers think they build nice cars now😂

seats do not look original

Looks great, sounds great. But I bet it's as reliable as f***!!! My dad had a load of Rootes vehicles in the 70s (Singer/Hillman/Humber) - and all he seemd to be doing every weekend was fixing something or other.

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO & HESCHLAVVO & SCHLABOUBVE laws)....
