This was my Mom's 🚗. But, the color was different. Not green. Penny color with gold inside. Same engine. What a beautiful car. And the sound of the engine. Awesome 👌

My mom drove a '68 Toronado. I got to borrow it many times on the weekends. Thumbwheel cruise control that was capable of kicking in the secondaries on the carb, if you rolled it all the way up. Very nice stereo for the day. Back seat the size of a sofa. No driveshaft tunnel. Brutal amount of torque that would light up the massive front tires. Loved that car...

Yes, this was a very good car. Very powerful indeed, I actually gps measured it once, and top speed was 125 mph (202 kilometers)

This has been my dream car since I was five. I can't believe it's a 455, front wheel drive, and still has all that space under the hood.

I liked this year's design. They got rid of the hidden headlights, but the close set quad headlights gave this car a menacing appearance.

My late uncle on my mother's side had this exact same model back in the day (same color, too). Loved rollin' around in it whenever my mother tapped him to pick me and my younger twin brother up from school on those days when she just wasn't able to for some reason or another. Only thing I remember being swapped out in it was the stock radio, which was too bad. Was a bit sad to hear of my uncle selling it off eventually (he wound up inheriting his late older sister's 1986 Lincoln Town Car which has slowly been depreciating in value in my mother's driveway ever since his passing several years ago 😮‍💨). To this day, I still wonder who has that Toronado and have they ever gotten around to fully restoring it... 🤔

Iknow, this was a beautiful car, clean original, imported to Norway from NJ! Nor rust, EVERYTHING from ac to clock worked! Unfortunaltey it almost hit two mooses, and ended up in the ditch. Frame got bent and it was totaled and wrecked :/ was really sad story, still miss it.... We had four 1970s Toronados in Norway, now its down to 3...

One of the best videos on this car, sadly there's minimal 1970 Toro content in YT. I have one, Nugget Gold, floor shifter w/bucket seats, and km/ speedometer, is totally destroyed by rust and sitting since 1975. Trying to restore it right now. Sorry about your car, what a loss.

I had a 1970 Toronado back in the early 1980's. I was the same color as this one. I went to the local airport and mixed a gallon of 100 octane along with the 97 octane. BOY could that thing fly down the road! i sold it to my cousin where he used it in a crash-car derby. He killed my baby. This video bring back memories. Thank you.

Yeah, the 70 was last year og first generation cars! These were the last to have a 455 that wasn't full of emission crap, so it was pretty peppy for a 50 year old fullsize
