I'm also the proud owner of a 1969 Chevelle SS for the last 28 years and that Chevelle held it's own against that Hemi but in my opinion the race would be a lot more fair to have a 1969 ZL1 Camaro vs Hemi!The all aluminum 427 was also rated at only 425 horse but was said to be closer to 600 and contrary to what a lot of dodge guys think that it was not a production engine there were just enough Camaros and Corvettes equipped with the powerplant to call it production status.They say it was not a good street engine but then again neither was a 426 Hemi.

Still prefer the chevelle SS. After all it is a mans true muscle car😏

The 70 Challenger is around 300 lbs lighter than the chevelle & the true hp & tq of the 70 street Hemi is around 510hp 500tq not 425hp 490tq. Dnt get me wrong all LS6's are some Bad mothers! But the 70 Hemi Challengers & 70 Hemi Cuda's were the Goods!!
