Chris, there were a handful of COPO Novas in 1970, maybe 2, 3 or 4 sold. I do know A couple of them went to Canada and are documented. They are basically what the Yenko Deuce nova is that you referred to, this is just what they looked like before Don Yenko got a hold of them and put his touch on it. So these particular examples didn't go through Don's shop.

I believe this is one of those uber rare Canadian Nova's (technically, it would be an Acadian).

In 1970 I was only aware of the Yenko Deuce with the hot small block, not a COPO in '70. Weren't COPO's only made in 1969?

Chris - It's actually an Acadian. It was one of 4 cars that were sold in Canada. The owner put it through a restoration, but he built it to drive, and as you can see, he drives it quite well.

Something obviously happened & the driver of the L79 lifted & gave up on the run. Use your eyes buddy, it's easy to see he let off very early in the pass, and then never bothered flooring it for the remainder. No point in doing so, he already lost. Just save the motor & car for the next round. Just about everyone has had a bad start, or something broke, where they lifted & aborted the run. That goes with drag racing.

Jeff Carr not with little bias ply tires. They ran 15s stock 12s with a fat set of tires

@@jeffwoods9666 Nothing goes fast or stops with bias plys. Definitely need a good tire some tuning and some practice banging gears to get them in the 12's.

I know this is a very old video, and I do appreciate the channel. But why bother posting videos of races where someone aborted the run, such as the Chevy ll L79 in this video. Anyone with eyes can clearly see he lifted very early and never floored it afterwards.
