What amazes me most is how masterful Chris is yet he has somehow not become a snob in an expensive shop. I have so much respect... Looking forward to saying 'hi' someday. I've compared prices and if you want good lifters (no matter the type, you need to get your wallet out). I am using the 440 Source heads (cnc'd locally) with Morel/Bullet hydraulic roller lifters, H-S roller rockers in my build, which is going to be much more tame than Smurf's engine.

He is the "MOPAR WHISPER"
I know you drove smurf hard, but most would have been gutted finding it necessary to tear down and do a complete engine rebuild because of a failed camshaft bearing. I admire you for your unfazed attitude towards that and your willingness to just get on and do whatever was necessary to sort it out. The end result is the prize and you now have one hellacious car. Well done and best regards.

Is that just a problem with those engines when you push them. I've seen Steve Dulcich from Motor Trend do a oil mod on the top end. I'm not a Mopar guy so I don't exactly know what it's all about.

Oh how much I like all the things happening on this channel...
You fricken amaze me how much work you get done in a given time. Fantastic build process and you tackle jobs on top of each other that I don’t understand. Like welding on frame connectors while you porting manifolds and installing pistons… Amazing!
It's kind of heartening, when even a pro forgets just how damned expensive this little addiction of ours, can get:)
I feel like we need a t-shirt with "it'll be most gooder" on it.
The best part about you and your car's is you building put a lot of time into doing that but then you take him out and beat on them like they should be driven nothing better than that you're having fun and doing what you want to do you have the life can't complain. Keep up all the hard work been washing your channel on and off for a while and for the last few days and straight up just binge watching and absolutely amazing channel keep it up!!
Dude, I just love your work. The planning and craftsmanship that goes into what you do is top level, and I learn a ton. Thanks for posting, one could never get enough Charger content! I see that Dulcich sign your center console, pretty cool!
I can see that you like Chargers since you are working on at least 3 of them at the same time. At least you are having fun and taking David Freiberger"s money.

That’s the understatement of the millennium saying he “likes” Chargers!!!
We can all tell by the smile on your face that u love what your doing to smurff, can't wait till u finish it to c what it's go's like and sounds like to.....fantastic.....
Hey Chris- on my '69 RT with a 2-4 weiand tunnel ram, I did have a hole in the hood, but found it ran REALLY cool with no hood at all. And yes, I had electric fans. Oh- I did have to run 1/2" fuel line to the carbs, too. Put an inline filter on top of the cowl & when I nailed it- you could see the fuel bubbling ( electric fuel pumps not keeping up).
I don't know how to describe how I feel about your work or you as a person,Except Awesome,Cool,Great or any number of words don't come close,Your honesty and blatant its my way or nothing attitude,Everything about it says you are one of the best I've seem,Hands down,No, I can't do it,You just forge ahead,I wish I was young again and had you as a mentor,All I can say is WOW!
Chris ... if you ever come across a set of ram charger heads, try them on a 383. You have to notch the cylinders to clear the 1.88 ex valves, but that 383 motor will breath and scream past 7000 rpm and because it's got smaller crank journals then a 440 it won't have any oiling problems.

Chris.... 🇺🇸☆☆☆☆☆🇺🇸 Charger R/T 👍👍 🎄Merry Christmas🎄
A motor converts energy into motion. An engine converts fuel into energy, then that energy into motion. An engine is technically a motor, too. Pretty motor you got there...

“It’s got a cop motor, a four hundred and forty inch plant” Now if you replace “motor” with “engine” blasphemy
You have special skills Chris! Smurf is looking and sounding GREAT!!! 🏁👍🔥🇺🇸 can’t wait for #3
I got to say I grew up from the time I was around 8 (pretty much as soon as I could turn a wrench) building engines from race engines, civilian engines, and oil rig main run diesel engines ECT but yes thàts on of most beautiful engines I've seen makes me wish I could still build but being Medically Retired from the Army pretty much put a stop to that lol but it does make me envies of you being able to keep em able to go fast and make lots of noise
Okay Chris I literally put down my video game to type this. Investing money you made fixing a Charger back into another Charger is frankly, AWESOME. I liked, I subcribed and I rung the bell when I heard that. Amen brother THAT Is AWESOME!!! 🤗Mayhem Money for more Mayhem!!!! Hell Yeah!?!
One thing I've learned over the years, it's amazing what you end up accomplishing when you're waiting on parts for other things. Stuff that has been put off time and time again.
Hell yeah its time to break out the popcorn and watch some charger videos
I'm absolutely 💯 geeking out 🙆♂️ Over those front sub-frame connectors , for the front clip (1/3 ) of the car 🚗 Never would have thought of that 🤔 before Great idea 💡 👍 Well done 👏 👏👏👏👏🏅🏆✔
Awesome 👏 video. Anxious to watch Part 3
I cut the bottoms of my rockers out and put 2x3 rectangular tubing in them, welded it to the inner rockers and put out riggers to the frame so they act as sub frame connectors and better side impact protection
Camera on the torque wrench, great shot! do it again! do it again!
Your enthusiasm is addictive 😁
Smurf is turning out well, love the tunnel ram.
Such a super fabracator just AWSOME work
WOW, just simply wow, Chris!
The cost of rebuilding Smurfs motor engine whatever the price of the mayhem rebuild… the looks on ppls faces when you drive up in Smurf Sporting a tunnel ram… PRICELESS!!!
chris your cap looks ripe, lol , sweet upgrades .
that ring compressor tho... lol im laughing a little about it
Love the Vanishing Point Soundtrack there.
Your neighbors must love you 😍
Solid video lookin out for the 3 episode!!!
You doing an awesome job 👍
I like your style, this is going to be a beast!
What an awsome video Chris , couldn't take my eyes off it til it was over 🙂 ... Next video will be betters ... Happy Holidays Chris and to your fiance
Nice, 3 years and Smurf just keeps getting better and better...👍
Greetings from Vegas. Cool build. Following
one of your best videos ever Man has skills !!!!!!!!!!
I think smurf would look cool with the factory colors on the exterior and a white interior.
Show off them ported 906s 🤘 Awesome video as usual man🇺🇲
What badass intro to start your video!
Hey Chris thank you for that video I enjoyed it
I am with you because I call it motor as well!
Awesome Chris ,i hope you have another hood for that car as its a shame to cut that one if its rust free. Do you think you could paint smurf B5 blue, with the rear stripe, not show car,but just tidy as that would look special 😉. Im only a truck driver, but if i come into money my friend i will send you some for speed parts lol. All the best Danny UK.
Likin the T***P sticker on the tool chest👍🏻
Yeah, muscle cars are sexy . . . and the '69 Charger is the sexiest car of all time.

Chris glad to see you're getting back to normal, although I see this video was shot over a year ago. Ceramic coated Pistons are Overrated you'll be lucky to get two years of benefits. Wear out faster than a Christmas candy cane. 💸💰💸💰💸
Love the "MOST GOODERS"!
hey Chris I just wanted to wish you and your whole family and Merry Christmas and a Happy New year so y'all stay safe now and God bless
Great video thumbs up
Not only beefed goodness but also beefed Godness
When I changed the fuel line in my '68 R/T I called one of the big-catalog "restoration parts" companies to get the correct replacement. The guy on the phone insisted that the OEM was 5/16". When I said the old line was 3/8" (which it was), he said that somebody must have changed it.

They probably randomly put different sizes in at the factory since quality control wasnt that good

Great episode mechanical aspects are muy importante'
Looking nice!
Smurfs gonna be badass!
Very good choice with the deutsch connector, those are canada proof. funfact CAT uses deutsch type connectors stock
That motor sure is beautiful. Yes an engine is a motor. "One who or that which imparts motion," mid-15c (from PIE root *meue- "to push away").
The fender tag is enough,it’s what it was,is & could be but it’s cool as is 😎. Smurf is bad ass.
I like when u got tunes on in the background to P.O utube about copyright BS haha
Hey Chris I’m new here. Hey man, when you were slidin the cam in, it looked like the 3/8”npt plug behind the cam gear was still not installed. Rad channel man!
Gettin' errr done!
3/8 plate loop around the boom tube pipe should be strong enough to transfer torque and keep the tube.
Real car guys know what motor means.. Keyboard Warriors who need everyone to know how "smart" they are however-
MAN DIAMOND - Haha I am totally using this!
I love that man diamonds you should make shirts with that
Hey Chris..smurf is going to have a real bad attitude when you finish it..also the transmission better be bullet proof too..i suspect you'll be pushing well over 400 HP..try not get any tickets...lol..see you on the next one Cheers 🍾🍾🍾🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

More like over 500 hp.
Man Diamonds , Yeah!!
100% awesome!
Paint the car!
i'd go for the Hughes roller rockers, rather than the harland sharp. the hughes lubricate the bushings on the shafts better, whereas needle rollers on the harland arent as strong due to reduced contact area to the shaft. thats just me .. Plus if youre putting 16k plus into a motor *tisk* whats an extra 4 grand for a Mopar megablock if it means the engine is gonna have a bulletproof oiling system and bottom end to boot.
Awesome 😎🇺🇸
Chris what size tubing are you using for the frame connectors. Love how you tie them into the front rails. Want to do the same on my 69 when in replacing floors on my car
Badass
If its not a motor then why do they call it motor oil?
FING COOL!
Good choice on the trick flow and Harland Sharp? Mine are working out great. Did you need to measure push rods and order new?
Re: "Motor vs. Engine" .... just ask them what they call the things that bolt to the frame and the block, to hold the thing steady in the car? You're welcome. LOL
Yes😍 pretty Shiny

Got an idea could you use a piece of tubing sideways in your subframe connecter for your exhaust to pass through
Gooder, betters, fasters !!!
Holy Shamoly! ;]
Ol’ Smuff is gonna be a tire shredder….. Would i be correct in assuming that a trip to the Freedom Factory is yours and Smurfs (or the General) future??? That’d be most awesome to see her in the burnout box
DMV Department of MOTOR Vehicles !!!!!!
Does one use lock tight on those internal intake Allen bolts, and on any carburetor base plate bolts that are exposed to the intake runners.
🙋🏼♂️bom dia irmão parabéns pelo seu trabalho já estou aqui passar no meu também ok obrigado 👍🏻 🇧🇷
Check your balancer, the outside ring may have slipped and the timing marks could be in the wrong spot, that’s why it seems like it wouldn’t take any timing
Did you paint inside the lifter galley?or was it already done ? And what paint did you use?
Hey Chris, Where'd Ya Find that CHICKEN PICKIN MUSIC?? Did JED Pass it on to you Without you Knowing?? 😂 😂
some day you should try some Weber carburetors mod
Do the headlights work a lot better wired that way ? Sounds pretty trick.
I call them engine's sometimes and motors/motorvators other times! 😁✌🏻🇺🇸
You should never use a wire brush on high speed to clean the tops of pistons cuz if you seen he quickly burnt through the factory coating on them. You should use a soft wire brush on low speed. It's important that the factory coating stays on the Pistons. Don't get me wrong chris is good everyone can learn something new every day. Knowledge is power and i wire brushed several sets of Pistons till they were shiny before i was told about that
Sounds like SMURF IS GETTING READY TO HAUL SOME ASSES...... OR OTHER CARS....
Use that big oil cooler for trans and trans cooler for oil cooler. Better suited to there use vs size
