My grandfather bought a 1967 Caprice wagon in 1976 for $600.00. Had 56,000 original miles. Owned by an elementary school teacher. 396 V-8, A/C. The woodgrain on 1967 model was surrounded by Chrome instead of the fake wood trim. The car was in pristine condition and became a favorite of mine. His had round guages in the dash. He used it as his car for his painting business until about 1986 when he retired.

Yeah that one takes me back. When I was a kid, my dad bought what I think I was told was his first new car. 1968 Caprice Estate Wagon similar to this, I remember the details pretty well. Black with black interior (my mom was so pissed), with the wood grain, really sharp wagon. 307 3spd overdrive, I was told this was the last year for a 3spd manual with overdrive. One thing your loaded Caprice send to be missing was stereo radio, had an extra part that hung under the dash in the center. Had a place for an 8 track player, but we didn't have the 8 track, but had the stereo. We had that car even after my dad passed on in 1982. Eventually the rust got too bad and my mom sold it. Had well over 100k on it, that used to be a big deal back then.

I don’t know if you’ve ever driven an older GM vehicle with a torn motor mount and really stepped on it, but if not let me tell you…that is about as scared as I’ve ever been behind the wheel! My buddies ‘64 Impala SS with a big block and a torn mount took me on a ride through our high school parking lot back in 1979 that I will NEVER forget! The cable from that motor mount holding that big monster down is a lifesaver, too bad they didn’t do it at the factory from day one.

I had a 1969 Buick Electra that I had built a 430 Engine for, It had such a brutal 2nd gear shift, that it ripped the rear control arm off of the frame rail at around 60 mph! I am lucky the other side held, but the rear end swayed a couple of feet when it broke and nearly launched the whole rear axle off the car. My wife and I were on our 3rd date or so- - she took it like a champ- a keeper.

So now this is a to on her car because we bought it from the original owner. But right after you said that you said I bought the car new. I even checked your transcript on it. On an earlier video you said you were forty-two years old. All the same I wish you the best on selling this. I like to see them all saved. But we both know that's not possible a a lot of old cars laying out there.

That doohickey that is on the coil terminal of the distributor cap appears to be a snake oil fuel economy thingamajig When I was in my late teens or early twenties some buddy's and I went to a car show either Street machine Nationals or some sort of super Chevy show and this guy had a pick up with like a 350 in it and he had the plug wires ran over to a big switch panel and with this device installed he was able to shut down each cylinder and have it ultimately run on two cylinders, he claimed that sometimes he could get it to run on one cylinder but it wouldn't happen this time out Well we were all amazed and so each one of us bought one, I was the only one that had a Chevy with an HEI distributor so the one I got plugged into the battery terminal on the distributor and everybody else's looked just like this, one friend put it in and didn't notice any difference in fuel economy or performance another friend cut his open said it was full of like charcoal dust or sand when I told my father about it he just laughed and said 'those have been around for a hundred years, you got took boy" LoL This would have been back in the mid-eighties, about a year ago I was going through some of my old Chevy crap and came across that doohickey still in the package, maybe one of these days I'll put it on the car I bought it for which I still have

Get me that guy that's been that kind of money on this wagon. Numbers matching 396. Great interior exterior great. About 15 notches above this car. I'm not knocking this car. Looking kind of money you mention would bring home a numbers matching barn with 396 same engine car. For what it's worth.

Do with it what we did with it back in the day. Cannibalize it. But there is a market for the station wagon. A lot more talk than buying though. I know where there's one at, that you can't even get a wagon into that condition or what it can be bought for. Matching numbers 396 big-block. It has the born with engine as well. Put it in that category of for what it's worth.
