Wow this is awesome. 1 1:00. Mapusaga LDS now leased by ASG and has become ASCC 1:14. Pavaiai village on Sunday 2:30 Leone village 2:42 Futiga with Tuiatua's gravesite 4:30. Fatu ma Futi 4:40 Utulei at Shimasaki store 4:55 Fale Laumei 5:09. Old Samoan Affairs Office, was also an Immigration Office, now the ERATE Below the Gov Point 5:16. Old tennis court where the Samoa Sport was once at, now Wesley Book store 5:23. Dairy Cold Ice Cream store then the Fire Station 5:40. Still the Police Station ... before the Fono Bldg was even made, the Communication Off 5:47. Old Court House and the Samoan house old folks used to sell their handicrafts to tourists from off-island arriving in Samoa The video goes back and forth at 7:00 it is at the Far East side, then 8:02 back to Aua then at the main wharf and the TRAMWAYS. Whoever took this, thank you. It was when Samoa Pack was newly established and buses were entered from the rear, not the side as we have it now. You sit face to face and when arrive at your destination, you walk to the front to pay the driver your dime. It was when sodas were 15 cents. Thank you very much.

WOW! I was 12 when this video was taken, and right before that huge hurricane in 1966 that paralyzed the whole island. Some of those houses shown in Futiga and Pava'ia'i came down during that storm. And most of the villages are practically the same, except few changes here and there. Thank you so much for sharing, appreciate, awesome memories.

2:43 Definitely the village of Futiga - I'd recognize that kia (tall grave) anywhere even in it's former traditional build: under the presumption the videographer is traveling from west to east based on the villages before and after.

It's just a slang. Reel refers to the footage films or rolls of film.
