Porter dude of Ohio here...Greetings! 🤩 Now that is one nice cabover Pete! That fire coming out was quite a shocker...I saw what looked like a bird’s nest come out at one point. Whew! 😳 If it’s going to Holland, well, our loss! I know that many people across the pond love our cabovers, but we really don’t see enough of them over here. Cabovers rule! 🥰 There’s only 1 thing better than a cabover...another cabover in your driveway! 🇺🇸😎🤩 Can you share any other updates on this rig? Would love to see it in action, etc! Thanks for showing it and I’m glad that it didn’t catch fire!

In this case being most likely a 1676 if not a 3116 Caterpillar with it not wanting to start it probably had a stuck jake break , that would cause flames to go out the exhaust , if not maybe blown turbo , or it could be a fuel delivery problem. But if you listen to when they were pop starting it , it sounded like the pistons were slapping, that noise is a stuck jake brake decompressing the engine where it's not going to fire properly....

The problem was the turbo was totally blown apart. Like decimated. This cost is another $4500 for shipping at the port due to not running. But “it ran fine” according to the seller. Liar.

I always thought if you pull start a diesel backwards it will just stop the engine cause when you pop the clutch the tandems just lock up anyways. If you do it in reverse the engine wants to suck air into the exhaust and blow it out injectors. Is that correct?

If that has jake heads , you might have a stuck jake break is why it wont start? Does it have a turbo? Is it a 1676 or a 3116 Cat? I can kinda hear it when you were pop starting that old girl , but determining by the exhaust smoke theres a cylinder that has something wrong with it , seems like #5 or 6 because a steady stream of smoke should be coming out... or your down a cylinder? It's hard to determine through video but , through just sound a visual it seems like the jake break is stuck on

@@keepontruckinoutlawlife1248 There's yards full of them all over the place. I know one yard near Broward Fl. that has well over 100 COEs. Every time I go down south I find more and they're cheap as hell, my neighbor bought a running 80s FLT, 3406B for 4500 in SC last summer.

I don't understand a lot of y'alls love of cab over trucks. I drove my share of them when i was young and I hated every one of them. If i couldn't get a job of driving a conventional tractor I would keep looking until I found a company that would hire me that only had conventional tractors. And I never drove VOLVOS either. And when I bought a truck it was a PETERBILT. My first PETERBILT was a 1984 359 and my second PETERBILT was a 1998 379.
