Had a very enjoyable impromptu visit by my friend Sean today on his lovely 1966 Norton Atlas. We kept our distance during the conversation!
Here are links to a couple of other videos featuring Sean's bike.

Thanks a lot Gary. Glad you enjoyed the video. That is a cool Atlas. Best wishes, Mike
It is so great to hear the sound of that bike running.
Man I hope my Dominator sounds like that when it finally runs!
Great posting. Like Mark who posted below, While living in a suburb of Montreal as a kid I dreamed about owning a Norton. In the late 60’s when I was around 10 years old, a neighbour on the other side of the block, would drive his Commando past our house several times daily. I would literally run outside too see him whenever I heard the sweet sound of that bike bellowing through those pea shooter pipes. I came to know the young man who owned it and would often hang around his carport as he worked on it. I ended up buying a 67 mustang from him when I was 15 but it was the Norton I really wanted. Well, 30 years or so later, I was roller blading with my son who was 6 or 7 at the time in a Toronto suburb where we lived and we stumbled upon a guy working on his Norton in the driveway and began to chat about my dream of owning a Norton. Well, he didn’t want to part with his but he told me about how the Vintage motorcycle club he rode with met every Sunday at a small diner just outside of town. The next Sunday, my son and I attended the breakfast and met with a bunch of great people and one of them gave me a lead on a Norton for sale. A week later I owned my first Norton. Within a year I had 9 vintage motorcycles stuffed in my double garage including a BSA 650, a Bonneville, BMW R75/5...........etc. I sold the collection over the last few years and bought another dream I had, a 1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible Q-Code like my dad had when we were young. The one he would stuff the five of us kids in to take us to the Dairy Queen. I kept one old bike that I couldn’t let go of......, a 1972 Commando Combat! Follow your dreams!
What a lovely bike ...... but what a GORGEOUS sound. Unforgettable.

Hi Jean-François. It's excellent, isn't it! Best wishes, Mike
Thanks for bringing this one on, I hope we never consider "social distancing" again, I've been getting by in large, because of your "cul-de-sac", keeps me breathing. I hope I can see it in person one day soon. I'm going to have to try to do something similar in the future, not perhaps the videos, but at least the visits. I live about twenty miles from the city, with a big garage, shop. Simply hearing all the different bikes has been great, thanks.
Snortin Norton as they were called. I had a 1963 650 SS Norton (they were faster than the 750 in the video). With the "featherbed frame" they handled very well for their day. Megaphones, no air filter and geared down it lasted almost 10K in a years time b/4 it started to smoke so I traded it for a 1964 Triumph T-120. We all did ride to a theater to watch "Bye-Bye Birdie" to see the Norton climb the courthouse steps.

Hehe, I haven't actually seen the "Bye-Bye Birdie" movie yet. It looks pretty interesting and I would like to see it just for the gold Atlas and the 2 Manxman motorcycles.. and possibly also a little for Ann-Margret ;) Best wishes, Mike
Love how with subtitles on, and the bike starts up it calls it music. Great video keep them up and stay safe :)

Hehe, we are working through the supplies! My wife's parents sent us a "food parcel" from the UK, so we're doing great. My wife is now trying to find new hiding places around the house, so that I don't eat them all at once ;)
Looks great, sounds great, featherbed frame, whats not to like!

Thinking back, a work mate had an Atlas way back. He took me for a ride to his house across town on it. It had been raining but it didn't bother him a bit, he leaned it over like it was dry road.

Hi Stephen. The blue is non-standard for an Atlas. I believe that they only did black or red, but it looks really great in that color doesn't it! Best wishes, Mike
Egads! Anyone mention how GREAT that 750 sounds yet? Those silencers must have nary a baffle between them.

Hehe, I can only imagine how cool that sounds at speed!! I hope to try that one of these days Bill. Best wishes, Mike
Don't try that here in the UK. If the police don't get you, the FaceBook Stasi will. Don't even think about it. You might get away with it if you have a pair of panniers full of essential shopping, but that's about it. I can't see the older generation, who ride the older bikes, getting out this year. 2020? The year that never was.
