This 1965 Factory Five Shelby Cobra is one of a kind! After ordering the Factory Five Mark IV kit, Michael Craven started putting this project together in his 2 car garage. When it was delivered to his house it was just a shell, a frame and 30 boxes of parts which took 3 years of work to complete. He had the idea to put a coyote motor in the car and we are sure glad he did!
In this episode we take you for a full walk through of the details of the build and have a ride along in this beautiful machine.
Sit back and enjoy...

I like that guy. He built the car to actually drive it. Factory 5 is a great option for an enthusiast. You get amazing nostalgia, and don’t feeling that you are committing a sin to put miles on your car. Good job, men

Fun fact! When sitting in a Cobra the distance from your ear to the exhaust tip is shorter than if you are sitting on a Harley Davidson.

This is one of the nicest Cobra builds I've ever seen. Honestly if I were to build one of these cars I would also go with a modern Coyote and IRS rear end. Everything else--the paint, the gauges, the shifter location, the seats, doorcards and trans cover--all look fantastic.

This is definitely the way to do it. The coyote is almost a cheat code for power. A reliable 7-800hp is easily attainable with a total of like 4 or 5 mods and a good tune. Not many other platforms can say the same. I hate to be “that guy” but the LS/LT are the only other ones that really even come close. But keeping it true to the Ford heritage with the coyote is 100% the right move imo. She’s a stunner of a build. Congrats on such a beauty.

My MkIV kit was purchased in 2012. After much research I put in one of these new Coyote engines. TKO600 transmission. 50,000 kilometers and Im still really happy. Engine is stock but for the Stainless Header 4x1x4 headers, the BOSS 302 intake and a mild tune on the chassis dyno. 490 HP, and like you said in your video, I get great gas mileage until my right foot brings the Coyote alive. Dyno graph shows it build power quickly from 3,000 rpm and keeps building at the rev limiter. Only beef....I shouldn't have wasted time and $$ putting the stereo in. NEVER use it. Keep enjoying the ride.

They just all, LT1, Hemi, Coyote, have this blatty… unrefined noise emanating from them. Don’t know how much modern exhaust systems can change from “the old days”. Now I do know these engines run at compression ratios deemed race only just a couple decades ago, all over 11:1, which does contribute to the sharpness of their sound but still, obnoxious is obnoxious… and I’ve got a 383 SBC that breathes through a 3.5” exhaust with only a 14” sound absorbing muffler!
