    Just been checking some barn find E Types on E Bay & was appalled at the condition of these rusted out old gems.I absolutely congratulate Jason for such a wonderful rebuild as this. I think that its the restorers prerogative to restore & Hot rod a rust bucket any way he likes. The engine work is just fantastic. Well done.

Everything about this particular car is stunning, especially considering it was a rusted piece of junk when he got the car and did a world class restomod that is breathtaking when you see the car in person.

    There is something to be said for the ingenuity demonstrated in both eras. Modern regulations restrict car designs by requiring engineers to incorporate certain lighting elements, crash/crumple zones, high-strength occupancy protection areas, air-bags and so on and so forth. Today's designers have to work AROUND fixed criteria and still try come up with new and fresh designs (no small feat) which makes some of the recent stuffy from Jaguar, Aston Martin and Ferrari (to name but a few) even more impressive. Designers and engineers of older cars (up until the late 60s) had total freedom to create anything they wanted without anyone telling them what had to be in there. It was a time of pure design - no restrictions other than that it could motivate itself on a public road and carry at least one occupant, which is why many of the cars from that era were so stunning.

  • @jani0077

    @jani0077

    all of those regulations came into existence because there is a minority who caused car accidents, and the majority had to subordinate to the minority. Rather than regulating, I would give a driving's license to fewer people, as sometimes I'm shocked how people drive, which is much more worse than having to comply to regulations.

    Maybe the British motor industry will come back but I won't hold my breath. Joining the EU was the death knell of all major manufacturing in the UK. I don't know if readers know that CE specifications were mostly word for word copying of the BSI standards, especially BS5-21

    Why don't any commentors listen to the video and learn that those headlights were dealer installed? He built the rest to his specs and everything he did was subtle and were reflective of his outstanding E-type lightweight race car. It's an expertly done restomod performed by someone who knows E-types inside and out.

In the men's room there was an original 1962 advertisement for the E type on the wall and it was surrounded by a metal frame with the name Jaguar incorporated in the frame. The owners told me that they have constant requests to buy this ad. It must have been from a Jaguar dealer back in the early 60s and the latest offer was a mere £5,000!

    +Václav Fejt I realize that. my point is that English is filled with words that aren't pronounced the way they are spelled. Mostly because they have their origin from another language or in the case of Reading (which was settled by the Anglo Saxons) an earlier form of the English language. However, the word Jaguar came to us from a native South American tongue by way of the Portuguese language. So who knows how it should be pronounced? It is just as likely the the Brits have it wtong as it is the the Yanks do.

So doing a restoration like this is probably in better taste because if you try and do it to an exact replica with the car being extremely rusted means that the car is then just a glorified replica.

    the metal was originally 'Aluminum' way back, ... but the English wanted it to be registered in the Periodic Table' and to fit in with Barium , Uranium, etc, and altered the spelling to fit in. so blame the brits for that, ( like the American "sidewalk" . that is original Shakespearian english, only it was spelled "sidewaulk" then. the English 'pavement' is from the French 'Pave'. The U.S.. has more proper English than we do in the UK.)

    The proper pronunciation of the word ‘jaguar’ according to the Portuguese and Spanish translation of the native word for the large cat indigenous to the Americas is ‘jag-wahr’, not the British mispronunciation, ‘jag-yew-wahr’. Look it up.

    The side pipe exhausts are too much, an American trade mark a bit like having a corvette in the uk and putting semaphore trafficators on it and skinny wheels. .. a car tells you something about the country it comes from, .. The E Type was always understated and elegant. kinda lost that in this one. ..

    People whinging about the mods... did you listen to him? The car was rusted away below the belt line. This was a goner, and he built a beautiful car for himself. Respect for the work he put in, and making it look period. Down to the side pipes and the way they remind one of the lightweights, the 250 Testarossa, some of the Mercedes race cars of the era, or even the contemporary Cobra Daytona Coupe. Gorgeous car. I would love to see it in motion and hear that lovely motor making music.

    Like the video, great to see E type appreciated, after all these years. Still my fav car. My Old Man would be proud to see this. He used to work at the Castle Bromwich plant. Tell your pal to show his updated version to TATA who current own Jag, copy it....But I still think they look best in bright white. Nice one mate. Comment to guy who complained about way Americans speak Jaguar, they can say it how they like, because if they buy them we love em. Thanks Jay

    Got to love anyone that spends their time and hard earned to bring vintage vehicles back to life...This is an exceptional restoration of what Enzo Ferrari once described as the 'the most beautiful car ever made'....The only negative for me is the winglets, the roll bar and the extra lamps...purely an aesthetic from my POV...Having said that I can see why Len has utilized those mods for the Le Mans look...so who am I to say that...Thanks guys...Love from UK...
