1962 VSCC Club Original Film. Priceless Vintage cars on Race Tracks and Muddy Farm Hills.
The original and complete Roscoe Films produced VSCC Club film from 1962
named "That was the vintage year that was"
This show some of the most famous pre world war 2 Grand Prix cars like the ERA REMUS as well as very rarely seen land speed record cars including the MG EX181 !!

Most of the competitors were youngsters back then, but then the cars were the equivalent of eighties and nineties cars today. Loved it, thankyou.
The Spitfire in the background was very pretty too!
Fantastic
Love these old club films, if only things were still like that today, sigh...............
These films are great to see. It is sobering to think that the new cars in the background of this movie are now older than the vintage cars were then! VSCC race meetings are still recommended visits even after all these years.
Thanks for the upload I really enjoy the films your father made they are a real time capsule of a gentler time.

Thank you. Dad would have appreciated that sentiment.
The year I was born. I have marshalled at a few of the club's events at Snetterton
Thanks.
The ice-cream man at Oulton Park looked like he'd been up partying the night before.

@@HamishRacing That's nothing short of a Tim Turner reply. Love it.
Ah, Oulton before barriers and still with trees on the Avenue. Not forgetting the bucolic scene of cows in the fields behind Cascades
Remarkable footage! All the more note-worthy is the fact that many of these cars are still being used to the full within the VSCC despite them being three times older now than they were back then. Good to see the "old" Montagu Motor Museum at Beaulieu in the days of the wooden sheds, too. Looks like Beaulieu Aerodrome was the setting for the Auto-Tests - an inhospitable place in those weather conditions. And was that ice-cream man at Oulton still shaking off a good night at the Cavern Club?
Fantastic video, is the narration original? The quality is very high. I was wondering whether it had been recorded or re-recorded later, either by your father or yourself

Hi Spencer. Very pleased you are enjoying all dads period films. Original 16mm colour film with post production but original sound. Recorded on a reel to reel system combined in original editing. Very hands on and labour intensive I remember as a kid for some of the later ones. Hundreds of feet of film all neatly ordered in his study as he spliced and glued them together. All the films that I have posted that my dad made under his original company Roscoe Films Ltd are as he made them at the time. He even digitised them so that they could be played via VHS tape then DVD. But without enhancements. With his blessing I have made them available on KZread but they are still subject to copyright.
