Very nice job. I had the truck you restored but it wasn’t a Jet Delivery truck. It had plastic stakesides on it and was a light green color with a white top.

You should consider taking all of the non-repairable parts that you gather and make a vehicle out if them. Pinholes in the metal and all. A non-factory paint color of your choice. Just like us real owners do with our old and beat up cars. Would make a good farm truck.

You had an incredible battle tearing down this truck AR, but I'm sure the results had to be satisfying. The finished product was great. I do have a question: I know the end result is to restore the vehicle to the way it looked new and you certainly accomplished that. However, if you had painted the TONKA letters on the tailgate white so they'd stand out, how much would that detract from originality and the value of the truck? The paint job was fantastic and it was like watching someone doing a new paint job on a real vehicle. Cheers from this old retired coot living the dream in chilly Tennessee.

I’m curious about the bars over the truck bed. Were they meant to hold a canvas tarp to keep the back dry or just for decoration?

How long have you been doing this..... Anything that you haven't been able to restore? What kind of investment would one need initially? It looks relaxing....

It took me long time, recently my project is very slow for some reasons. Usually finishing a project is around one month including 5-7 days video editing, if without video shooting it should be faster to finish.

For restorations need some tools and equipment such as sandblast cabinet and powder coating tools and oven, I use all DIY tools they are not expensive, but some proper toys and replacement parts are not cheap, my project like this Tonka jet delivery truck very expensive, it’s rare I spent $400, on eBay somebody sells restored jet trucks at over $800…

So how much do you sell the truck for with all your time and supplies and replacement parts? Are toy companies making replicas of new trucks now?

That’s depending market price, for example on eBay. This Tonka Jet delivery is rare and should be very expensive, on eBay somebody sells it more than 800$, if it was original it would be over 1000

The original windshield was broken, I used a replacement part. For cleaning windshield usually need to use high grit sandpapers
