    I tell ya it is good therapy to see such intense work. I couldn't do it. I'd like to have bill gates kinda money to make a 1962 Chevy Batmobile. Maybe fins in back.

    Can see how valuable that frame jig is to you. Definitely worth it to build one for a restoration such as this. I will be building one for my next Impala. I have 5 patiently waiting their turn. Thanks for the info. Great substance.

    I’m doing a similar 62 impala build .. I’m at the point we’re I’m ready to paint the new installed floor pan. Do you Seem seal the underside and braces of the pan ?

    @@Cheez1979 I seam seal every joint, I use 3M fast and firm it works well for me, it does skim over really quickly so you have to be quick when you're working with it but it expands and contracts really well doesn't pull away over time from the joint.

    Really really enjoy watching your work learning a lot from you Getting ready to hopefully rebuild my 60 Bel-Air soon . When you Weld the framework inside of the car to keep it from twisting and warping where is the best places to Weld this temporary framework, And is it always a good idea to weld in the temporary framework or only when you're doing certain things Like moving the body around a lot Thank you so much for your help best regards Richard

    nice vids man i really enjoy it and appreciate the tips, i have 2 that im building and ive never restored a car, but watching you as you go along, before i start is alot for me so thanks. ive been in "school" by practicing and learning these things before i gewt started, these cars will test me big time. again thanks. also what are the clamps you use to pull the body panels? i have one that took some collision on the side and may need something like that

    If you Google Moe clamp that's a brand name I believe but it's just a standard Collision Repair body clamp if you go to auto body Toolmart.com they carry those, you can absolutely do the repairs to your car take your time plan out what you're doing take pictures and you'll be fine hey thank you for watching

    Yes but, you definitely would want the car on a fixture of some kind

    Whats your criteria for bracing a body. If the floors and rockers were good would u still brace body?

    If I were replacing the entire rear section ( quarters, trunk, etc ) yes I would still put the vehicle on a fixture.... can those items be replaced without using a fixture? yes... A fixture removes any variable or guessing. Thanks for watching !

    Higher end craftsman shops are at an hourly rate and lower quantity shops price by the job

    It seems like you replaced a bout 80 percent with after market panels wouldn't it be easier to build a new body with replacement body parts ?

    I give estimates after the vehicle has been disassembled, installed onto a rotisserie and media blasted.... anything else is just guessing....

    I'm doing a 60 impala rocker. My floors and braces are solid. Can I just cut out the outer and inner rocker without bracing it?

    Is it on a frame fixture George? Bracing it is always cheap insurance

    It's on it's own frame with floors. The floors are solid. It's on it's wheels like a whole car.

    @@georgesand4629 probably okay without bracing but it's really a judgment call..... as you're cutting the floor you want to pay attention and make sure things don't start shifting or moving

    So... you've only cut clean metal on a bench with a plasma cutter, not painted, multi layered shapes that have rust, fiberglass, body filler, and lead filler possibly in them....... I see your experience level......
