I'm almost 54 and my dad had the 1957, 1961 Bel Air and he loved them cars. Chevrolet put out some awesome cars back in the 1960's. Your video was great. Thanks for showing it cause I'm doing an AMT model kit of the 1962 Bel Air and I gotta say the colors of that engine compartment is precisely how they're telling the modelers how to do it. Thanks again.

I'm a Mopar guy but the 61-62 Chevy and Pontiac bubble tops were beautiful cars. Especially the Pontiacs with the 8 lug aluminum wheels and whitewalls. In fact a bubble top 62 Pontiac Catalina 421 Super Duty is my favorite Pontiac ever made and the 62 Impala SS Z-11 is one of my favorite Chevy's...as well as the 62 Bel Air 409/409 bubble top being one of my favorite Chevy's. Even though I'm a Mopar guy I've always thought GM built the coolest full size rides in the 60's...particulary the Chevy's and Pontiac's. Mopar concentrated more on performance in their midsize cars and pony cars than their full size models. But those big Plymouth Fury and Dodge Polara cop cars with the 440 Police Interceptor were really fast. Tried out running them a time or two lol

This is my favorite car you have shot Scottie. Its a real time machine! And i love how much detail has gone into it to keep it that way. Original cars are becoming rare, and sadly now and again, one or two become extinct.

Scottie, I did not recognize you until you spoke. I love that bubble top roof style on all the GM cars of those years. So easy to just shred those little tires with all that horsepower even if it was measured at the flywheel.

I had a perfect body I bought, it didn't have a engine or transmission. So I put a L88 in it with a rock crusher four speed, added a 488 positive traction. Mine was rust free and never wrecked. I sold it in 1975. Mine was black with red interior. She would run.

I always thought '62 was the best year of the '59-'64 classic Chevys, especially the Bel Air sport coupe. The '61 was still a little too busy and the '63, while handsome, just had no-where to go after the '62 got it so right. Never understood why so many people favor the bland '64.

I always liked the 62 Bel Air bubbletop 409/409-4 speed and the 66 Biscayne 2 door post 427/425-4 speed the best of all the full size Chevy's. I like how Chevy made their hottest big blocks available even in the low trim level Biscayne's and Bel Air's...which were both lighter than the more upscale Impala SS and Caprice. Same way Ford made their 427/410hp and 427/425hp engines available in their lowly 300 series, Custom, and Custom 500 trim levels which were all lighter than a more upscale Galaxie or LTD. Always really liked the 60s full size performance cars from both Chevrolet and Ford...even though I'm a Mopar guy

The 409 Bel Air hardtop was a very rare car...does this one have the special-order lightweight body panels? Chevy kept this body style from 1961 just for the purpose of racing, even though GM's policy was to the contrary!

Lightweight did not come on a production car. That was rare over the counterparts for racers only for the most part. Was an assembly line option for the 63 . They were used for the Z11 cars.
