Che bello! Avevo 7 anni e mio padre comprò il nostro primo televisore per vedere le Olimpiadi...quel giorno ero lì davanti e quando vinse, dato che ero seduto in terra poggiato alla sedia , diedi una gran capocciata..ma fu il bernoccolo più amato! Nessuno ha più corso così leggero e facile, se avesse avuto il tartan di oggi sarebbe andato sotto i 20"...60 anni fa!!!

Berruti fu un fuoriclasse assoluto. Come talento puro è da considerarsi il più grande velocista europeo della Storia

Affermazione da tifoso. Per velocità si intende la disciplina regina: Ovvero i 100 metri. I 200 sono una resistenza alla velocità e di importanza non paragonabile. Vengono anche dopo i 400. E poi anche come duecentista ci sarebbe da discutere sul "migliore talento naturale europeo di sempre"...

1972, campionati regionali juniores. Riscaldamento allo stadio dei marmi e, alla chiamata dei concorrenti, si imboccava il sottopassaggio e si entrava sulla pista dell' Olimpico. Non ho corso la mia specialità ma me la sono cavata piuttosto bene. Ma una cosa mi gratificava soprattutto, essere passato DAL campetto Coni di Latina alla pista dove 12 anni prima aveva trionfato Berruti. Il giorno dopo però i compagni di liceo mi invidiavano di aver fatto la doccia negli stessi spogliatoi dove la facevano Prati, Boninsegna, Zoff.....

Un mito dell'atletica. Lo vidi in diretta: erano le mie prime Olimpiadi. Ma naturalmente in bianco e nero. A colori è un'altra cosa. Grazie

It was incredible hearing him commenting the victory of Jacobs of the 100m, a voice from epic past like this video, this race gave him eternity.

Io ne avevo 10 e ho vissuto quella finale con un'emozione fortissima!

Bravo...bravissimo...x carità...bello stile...bella corsa...grande Vittoria...ma poi è finito tutto li. Nemmeno da paragonare all'inarrivabile Pietro Mennea...

@Stephen Forfer - that was in the semi-finals when the first three finishers in each heat qualified for the finals. Norton and Johnson were just checking their positions to make sure no one was threatening to knock them out of the top three. There was no need for them to overhaul Berruti.

Fatti praticamente senza fatica, con una leggerezza tale che, effettivamente, pareva volasse! E dire che, per quanto ricordo, si allenava solo tre volte a settimana! Incredibile. Una genetica pazzesca! E poi guardate il fisco, tutt'altro che ipertrofico. Poi negli anni ottanta si è arrivati al fisico di Johnson ( evo steroideo) per giungere ai giorni nostri (evo bioingegneristico)!

Sì, in effetti si era ancora al dilettantismo puro. La scienza medica non era ancora padrona degli sport. In più non dimentichiamo che si correva sulla terra battuta, che non era certamente d'aiuto per la spinta propulsiva. La pavimentazione in tartan esordì solo alle Olimpiadi di Città del Messico.

Vincenzo Maria Dispotico. Lei ha ragione. Ll'unicita di Berruti sta proprio nella sua genetica. Per me è. stato il migliore in Europa, i suoi tempi nei 100 e 200 metri nei primi anni 60 sono incredibili. Con la preparazione di oggi poteva giocarsela anche con Johnson e Bolt

Lo vidi al cinema a colori: fecero un film sulle olimpiadi. Non so se lo stesso anno o l'anno dopo. Io la TV non l'avevo e neppure l'energia elettrica, avevamo in casa solo una radio con le batterie. Avevo 8 anni.

Il migliore velocista italiano dopo naturalmente Pietro mennea. Atleta di assoluto valore internazionale. Andò in finale anche a Tokio 64.

Meglio di Mennea sicuramente. Aveva solo lo svantaggio di non essere meridionale e di non potere contare sul pietismo della stampa col complesso di colpa verso il sud.

Armin Hary with one "r" & Armin was a 100 meter specialist. The man ran a 10.00 which is the fastest time ever recorded on Cinder & he's the first man to ever run under 10.10 on a Cinder dirt track! No one talks about these facts which is beyond me.

@@normanlinden5786 it was hand times. But Paul Nash was a great sprinter. Unbeaten in south Africa and throughout Europe and south america in his short career. Only beaten once , by Jim Hines. He was then only 20 yrs old. Developed arthritis at 21 yrs old, which ended his career. He says he would have won gold at 68 Olympics if he could have run. Who knows ? But he was a great sprinter, one of best of 60s. Consistently fast, hand times, yes. But consistently fast. Speak to sprinters of 60s, and officials, they should know. Nash was unbeaten as a junior sprinter against seniors, in Europe as well. Also never ran on tartan tracks, only cinder and dirt tracks. Do some reading.

Da poco ho rivisto, sempre su KZread, i 400 m femminili degli anni 80. E devo dire che le atlete della DDR e dell'URSS, più che femmine, sembravano dei maschi. Adesso riguardando questa finale olimpica, con Berruti che corre con gli occhiali da sole, che non aveva mai vinto nulla prima, e anche dopo questa gara non ha poi vinto più nulla, insomma ... Spero tanta che sia stata una gara pulita Il vero sport è solo quello pulito, tutto il resto non è sport

Well, the last white sprinter to win Olympic gold in the 100m was Allan Wells, in 1980. (Valeriy Borzov won it in 1972) And the last white sprinter to win Olympic gold in the 200m was Pietro Mennea, also in 1980!

Italy also produced Pietro Mennea, two decades later, and he was beating everyone for a few years. Isn't the 100-meter winner in Tokyo, Jacobs, also from Italy? Must be those refreshing dips in the Adriatic Sea. Must be the fresh rosemary or the anchovies.

This was the time when all these people had a normal job too, except when they were students. Running didn't earn you anything but fame back then.

Nessuno me ne voglia a male pero io penso che lo hanno fatto vincere .cosa ha vinto questo tizio nella su carriera. Aveva anche il tempo di guardare gli avversari in corsa. Per me e stata una gara vinta a tavolino. Tutto truccato Per dare la medaglia all'italia
