I agree as well, but the math is flawed. Video says Fleetwood at $5700 equates to $57,444 in 2023 dollars, with Deville base $5040, equates to $58,000 in 2023. Had to replay it because in 2023 Fleetwoods are less than Sedan DeVille. Nevertheless I enjoyed this enough to be #62 subscriber!

Great video. I owned 8 Cadillacs in my life. I would always bug the salesman AJ Reck to find me a one owner used car that was serviced at the dealer. I was always happy with my cars. 50, 62, 69, 70, 70, 73, 79, & 82. All Sedan de Villes except the 70, 73, and 82. Thanks for the presentation.

Great memories! We always had Cadillacs around when I was young as the folks were in the funeral business. The mentality of the old-time undertakers was so conservative that they balked at the 1958"s because of all of the chrome, but, bought a hearse, flower car, and a "lead-car" from the local Superior Coach dealer because they needed them. They kept the '56 "Combination" Ambulance hearse thinking they would get another year of service out of it because they had no idea what the '59 was going to look like! The 1959's were a shock to the old-timers who thought the fin and bullets was just too over-the-top. By 1960 the stylists had cleaned things up a bit and we got a new set of cars. One was a "straight-hearse" the other was a "combination" Ambulance/Hearse and they were both built on the Seventy-Five series chassis. They used a series Sixty-Two four door Hardtop for a lead car. I helped keep them washed and fueled. There was nothing special about them to me, other than the Combination and the Lead cars both had air conditioning AND radios! They were good typical Cadillacs and rode well, easy to drive and powerful. The right-side outside mirror was nearly worthless on them because of the windshield pillar and that made them a bit hard to back into parking spaces. I had a relative with a 1960 Fleetwood Sixty Special in what I believe to have been called "Persian Sand" paint color. It was a beautiful car and they kept it for a decade, until they were too old to drive anymore. I should have snatched it up!

Great story from the funeral perspective. Never thought of how the "Flashy" fins and chrome would impact what should be a low key and reserved service industry.

Thanks for your comments, I just checked 2 sources for the 76 DeVilles, one source only goes to 1975, and priced a base Deville in the upper 8k, the other resource price the 76 DeVille at 9100 for a base model. Not saying what's right or wrong, just letting you know what the database info is.

In late '75, I bought me '76 Buick Electra 225 Landau coupe fully equipped, Astroroof, manual A/C, auto pwr door locks, lamp monitors, everything except cruise control. Pewter color, triple stripe maroon, tilt steering (non telescoping), chrome Buick rims & VOGUE tyres, my total was a tick over $9k. I didn't have leather interior, marooned cloth, 60/40 pwr driver only, Light Vanity(pass only). Dealers were pushing these landyachts for it was the final year b4 the ugly Down sizing, & big blocks too. Caddy was more $$$,but, many options on my deuce were cheaper & my 455 had more ponies than the 500 4bbl. My dad had a '76 Eldorado with the 500 fuel injection, more power 215 vs 190, and his torque was 400. His had all the standard equipment and Astroroof, he paid $12k. Beautiful all white exterior, white leather interior, red rugs & dashboard. Gr8 deals for beautiful lux, & near lux.for '76
