So glad these buses are still going, many times I sat behind the driver watching the speedo waver up and down on this bus as it sped down North Walls. it probably had a dodgy speedo cable but I didn't know that then. When I was a bit older (about13) I went into the coach garage and Fred Chisnell sold me an old Standard Vanguard (KOR 519) that stood in the back covered in dust, for £10. As the number plate is in sequence I assume he bought it new and ran it until it failed it's MOT. Looking back I can see what a nice original car it was. I thought I could clean it and it would go but I had no tools or knowledge and of course never got anywhere. But I did get £10 worth of sitting in it and pretending! I assume it was scrapped. Just bought the Olympic book!

I am told that pushing steam(From a domestic steam cleaner) into the rubber (foam) seat cushions will plump it up (from a car seat tip) , not sure how true, and if it has to be more modern foams - 1970s dunlopillo seemed to fall apart completly.

I haven't got a chance to see that one yet. Maybe next time when I come to visit the Eastbourne Bus Running Day.
