1959 CERN Particle Physics Film Featuring Niels Bohr, Heisenberg, de Broglie, Cockroft et al
Ғылым және технология
An old archival film made circa 1959 during the construction and first operations of the Proton Synchrotron (PS), CERN's first synchrotron particle accelerator. This short film is an interesting historical perspective on particle physics, the old accelerator and detector technology involved in the discoveries of new particles as well as featuring a rare glimpse of scientists of that era at meticulous work including footage of famous Nobel Prize winning physicists such as Niels Bohr, Louis de Broglie, John Cockroft and Werner Heisenberg. It also features very nice jazz musical accompaniment to match the spirit of this era in the history of physics.

Outstanding! The inimitable Raymond Baxter (WWII spitfire pilot) provides the commentary.
Both the video and the vintage jazz are classic
Not much video of de Broglie or Bohr out there even today. Fine record of the weak focusing era.
Much faster than the eye can follow
Wow....
Damm Ray, where do you find this stuff. 👍💛

Old archives that have been either sent to me or that I have found myself in libraries and vaults in universities I have visited. There's less and less hidden footage like this out there now but occasionally something like this comes up and is worth uploading here. Thanks for watching!
Good
Fuck yeah
Lifting the veil, eh?
My one ear likes it Need mono remix.
F.cking piece of history!!
👍👍
Last time I momentarily unplugged their oscilloscope they thought they'd discovered the Higgs boson, the silly nerds! Heisenberg wasn't so certain, though...
I am not shore if something like this happens in the sun, but out here its not so much .We survive Because we have the perfect structure and position to accommodate the unimpeded path of the cosmic ray family . God never the rolls dice for what will be
? Windows 98 minus 43 ( 1955 ) Transitors , IBM , Apple , Microsoft way before these Then internet , cellphones , You Tube , Tik Tok , " Baby Shark " Whoa
