Far too many of these vintage cars have been converted by chop-shops into 'hot rods' ...I know it wouldn't be easy but personally I would restore that car back to original condition so people could admire and appreciate automotive history. 👍

Yes! Especially since it was a factory pink car. SOOOO cool in it's factory form

Put it up on 4 car stand give it a clean up and get it going keep all the nuts and bolts and stuff u find all the best

Use the rear fins for the ecto 1

This car desserve to be saved ,it not important if it is not a perfect restoration ,the most important is to save it ! The body is in good condition for a car of this age (exept the front ),this pink Cadillac desserve her chance to be back on the road .

Definitely try and save the fins and chrome trim

Hello from England. I love what you are doing with Recto-1. I absolutely love 59 Cadillacs! (Not so much the pillar-less roofed versions though)! It would be great to see this parts car keeping it’s patina and stitched together with as many spare parts as you’ve got available and running with a genuine Cadillac engine if possible! And not the usual done to death LS swap that a lot of folk opt for!!👍

i’m also from england and couldn’t agree with you more, this channel is brilliant. i don’t suppose you know of any cadillac hearses in england do you? i’ve seen a few 2/4 doors but no hearses!

Unfortunately I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing any year of Cadillac hearse/ambulances! Same as yourself,I’ve only seen two 2-door 59 caddies! One in Skegness town centre. And the other at a classic car show in Nottingham! When I was about 13yrs old I had the pleasure of being a front seat passenger in a blue 1976 Cadillac Eldorado! It was identical to the one that Reese steals in The Terminator! For a FWD car that big 8.2ltr V8 still put me back in the seat when the owner gave it some beans!!💪🏼

@@jackryalls6841 i honestly don’t think there are any 59 hearses here, if there are any they must be hidden away and rarely used. i vaguely recall there being a failed 59 ECTO 1 project on ebay here a few years ago which was in a million bits. hopefully it was finished but quite probably broken up for spares as of how rare it was!

I think 59 Miller Meteor bodied Cadillac Ambulances are getting even harder to source even in the States! I watch another American KZread channel called Video Bob,and his shop builds Ecto-1 and BTTF Delorean replicas. And he struggles to find MM’s that aren’t completely trashed and unusable! The nxt best thing definitely seems to be the less desirable (in my opinion) 1960 Caddie!🤔

@@jackryalls6841 i’ve always been on the lookout for a 59 hearse, but it seems a lot less hearses are being saved than ambulances, on account of the ecto one being an MM ambulance. But now original ambulances are getting rarer, people may begin to convert hearse bodied 59’s to ambulances. as you say i agree the 59s look better than the early 60’s ones, but @DYFEA ‘s 62 with a 59 front end and maybe soon a 59 rear end, looks just as beautiful as the rest of the ECTO replicas!

Clean it up really really good to see exactly what you have ..could be made to run and drive fairly easy ..doesnt need to be perfect but it should be saved !!!! Thanks for saving it !!!!

You should do a MAD MAX car, that way you would keep the patina and look cool with all the wasteland parts and modifications like in the movie

Ok... I remember you cutting the other '59 end, so i'm not going to suggest 'use the fins for Wrecto-1". What I AM going to suggest... is take the front clip off of Wrecto-Red, and put it onto this car. I think... that a period correct pristine restoration on this is way too much. But something could be done with this. You've done a lot and learned a lot working on Wreckto, this has a lot of potential to be something. Get some rust convertor spray underneath it, clean up the chassis, get a front end on it and get it on some wheels to see it sitting straight. That's my 2 cents and i'd REALLY love to see that happen.

If the car is that nice I would fix it up, it’s a beautiful car for sure my absolute favorite model year.

that car is going to continue to rise in value, if it was mine I would try to improve it or leave it as is, I would not part it out or degrade it in any way

Restore it to original condition as it was meant to be. 👍 I've seen some of these classic cars get turned into souped up monstrosities that not only destroy the looks ,but will wear them down quickly

Take of the fins of the car and put then on the hearse and then paint it then it will look like it

Part it out, the trim is worth a lot.

I know this is late but you should use the back lights with the squares and the fins for your ecto 1.

I have 4 brand new doors for this model Cadillac at my home that I don't use. I have a 1959 Deville in good shape

i say restore her, and just own a pretty cool cadillac with ecto, OR make it a ghost themed car to go along with ecto-1!

The side spear moulding are worth a thousand dollars if they are good. Lots of parts. OR, restore it. Cheers.

put back together, i think putting another fender on front would definitly be a start it's sad that someone would do that to a car especially a vintage classic such as a '59 cadillac i understand that it would take a lot of money to restore it , but it would be worth it in the long run i'd say save it

hey man cool project. if you intend to convert your miller to a 59 you really should use a coupe donor as the fins are longer. the 4 door fins are slightly different than what would have been used on a real 59 miller.

I know, but coupe fins are too rare. You can modify sedan fins to match the coupe shape closely!

Pretty sure that switch on the right front dogleg is for the passenger power window. I had a 59 similar to this but it had crank windows.

You're probably right! All my other 59-62 are crank windows so it's the first time I've seen it. Crazy that it wouldn't be on the door itself

Not a parts car- that is a builder.

Keep it for fix it up.

Part it out unless you have all the parts to put back together. The rear would make a great trunk couch

Where in the world are you going to get the parts to restore this old car in the shape it's in ? It's scrap metal now to be used to make a new car.
