Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Dempster Systems promotional video showcasing the Dempster Dinosaur bail hook platform from it's debut in 1958 rounding out the Dempster System of refuse handling equipment.
These videos were uncovered by Bill Dempster, great nephew of George Dempster. Many thanks to Bill for allowing me to share these amazing videos which haven't been seen in over 50 years.

WOW! Just wow. I had no idea roll off trucks were invented so early on. And they really haven't changed at all since the 50s.

Amazing product line. Dempster set the bar for the refuse industry. Sad that they could not survive in the later years.

Dempster was way ahead of its time with their designs and ideas. They are truly some of this industry’s grandfathers. Hard to believe that in the late ‘50s these guys had such simply complex designs and equipment. Total Hall of Fame company engineers and designers.

Back in the 80s I owned a 26' DinoTrailer. Its serial #was 170. It was a DST70, and my company motto was " If I can hook it, I can hoist it". My equipment blew away my cable competitors, there was nothing like it. Yes, I was limited to my Dempster cans. But I could push off a can onto your dock and into your building in 45 seconds.

It's an awesome system, I ran one for several years. You could do anything with a "Dino" truck as we called them. Bins on stilts, docks, parallel park them like in the video, all without getting out of the truck. Because the deck was so much shorter than it is on cable trucks, you could load and unload bins inside with basically no more clearance than you needed with the bin on the truck. Their downfall unfortunately was that safety types didn't like that there was no fail-proof connection between the truck and bin. Every year we had several accidents where bins would take off on you when loading or unloading. Also if the spring on your bale hook broke while driving, the hook could come disengaged and the bin could slide right off.

The Dinosaur is a machine I've really grown to like over the years, definitely my favourite bulk bin handler amongst the roll offs, hook lifts and luggers. Damn awesome to get a look at this video - well done on sourcing it and thanks for sharing the gold. Cool to see the equipment from the beginning, quite a contrast from the more modern stuff I've been familiar with. Proper vintage animation, narration and background music in this production haha These aren't too easy to come across in Australia now, once very widespread, but hook lifts dominate this kind of work here today. Happy to say I drove some older Dinos a bit in the past, but even now I have the privilege of operating a newer one each weekend :D
